Hello All,

Is anyone else considering extremely minimal decor? Our venue includes a rectangular table with tablecloth where I'll put a card basket, framed invite and seating chart or escort cards. Other than that, I was thinking centerpieces, favors on the tables and beer/wine signs listing what we'll have on the bar.

For the ceremony room (white wall/white floor), I was planning to splurge on a copper arch (already have plans for it in our house afterwards) and either tying back some fabric or hanging greenery.

A photo of the reception area is below (string lights are part of the venue so are the linens) and we'll have a couch lounge space I'd love to go all out with cute details but with set-up, tear down, transit to and from site and budget, even this feels like a lot.

What are your thoughts?

That looks like a lovely venue. I probably wouldn't do much more myself. Especially if you'll be the one doing any setting up - the simpler, the better.

We're doing minimal too. Our venue looks pretty similar to yours with lighting on the ceiling along all the exposed wood beams. It's got a very rustic chic vibe. We are going a cloth and curtain light backdrop for our ceremony space, along with a unity candle set, and mason jar centerpieces for the dinner tables with burlap/lace wrapped around the jars, fairy lights inside with the artificial flowers and a napkin coordinated to the flowers underneath with little wooden hearts to scatter around the jars. I have a lovely antique suitcase that I'm going to put favors (carved wood hand fans & antique looking key-bottle openers) & bottles of bubbles for our send off in. Place cards & table #s, cake stand, card box & guest book, and framed pics of my departed brother and grandfather. Oh, and an unplugged wedding sign.

That's about it for us. Our venue is providing all the extra little tables we need, and everything related to dinner (place settings, utensils, linens, etc).

This is what our centerpieces will look like set up on the tables:

This looks so cute! I'm leaning toward nice escort cards instead of a seating chart since those will be taken with the guests as they leave and require no frame or stand but we'll need a tables assigned so I have to communicate that somehow.

Lovely venue. If I were a guest, I wouldn't notice a "lack" of decor if I came into this room. I think it might be the case that nobody (not even FH) will care but me. So maybe I need to let go of thoughts of some of the bigger ideas. The marriage matters more than the wedding but I think I'm just caught up in that when else will I have an excuse to decorate with a wall of lights, etc, etc.

Anything above & beyond is just icing on the cake. Personally, I love minimal decor just as much as everything else. It's already amazing to be able to invite & host people. Plus, your venue is already lovely standalone.
