Milwaukee Engagement Photos

sjkuffel, on April 14, 2013 at 9:23 PM Posted in Planning 0 12

Hello!

Any Milwaukee brides out there that have some good areas in for engagement pictures? I'm not too interested in having photos at the art museum. I figured one of the beaches but after that I'm not too sure.

Any help would be great?

I am going to keep an eye on this post, i am in west allis and have been trying to figure this out too! Just keep in mind if you do the Domes or Boerner Gardens they will charge a fee for the photographer.

I'm not from Milwaukee, but I googled and came up with these:

Yeah, I did a little looking myself and found a few interesting places.

I had one place already in mind because I got engaged at Atwater Beach. So we are for sure having pictures there Smiley smile. Plus, there's a lot going on. It has a hiking trail in a woods up above the water and several different rocky cliff areas. There's a large cement pier that stretches a bit into Lake Michigan.

I've gotten a decent list after doing some more research:

    3rd Ward

    5th Ward

    Riverwalk

    Milwaukee Public Market

South Shore Park in Bay View

Lake Park (w/ Villa Terrace and Altera)

    North Point Lighthouse

Milwaukee Public Library (the inside/front area is gorgeous)

    McKinley Marina

    Botanical Gardens

    Domes

    Milwaukee Art Musuem

Botanical gardens or a lighthouse will probably make lovely pictures! A lot of people like to have 2 contrasting environments, so if you're doing the beach already, maybe go for a more architectural environment as well?

Yeah, I definitely like the idea of two contrasting locations. I'm thinking maybe downtown(3rd/5th wards) or lighthouse.

For anyone else that's still looking for ideas I also found/thought of:

    Pfister Hotel

Pere Marquette Park - near the Riverwalk/Old World 3rd St - nice gazebo.

    Juneau Park Bluff

Milwaukee County Historical Society - very pretty building

    Milwaukee City Hall

US District Courthouse on Wisconsin Ave - has some very stunning arches and is close to the Art Museum.

Trimborn Farm has a lot of great old buildings/grassy areas

Humboldt Park (has some cool tunnels)

    Wolski's Tavern/Brady Street

Lastly, I found this link with a google map of photo-shoot locations

Now, I think I have successfully given myself too many locations to choose from HAH!

A friend of ours who is doing our photos came up with not only the Domes, but also Lakeshore Brewery and Sprecher Brewery! they hold weddings there so they get photos all the time, and looking at lakeshore it looks pretty....and how different is that?? We are in beer capitol after all!

I'm going to copy your list and look into some of these too! Glad we could give each other ideas!

now you do know you will have to post pictures so we can all see how lovely they turned out.....

Here are my last favorites. We ended up going with Big Bay Park in Milwaukee - It's where we got engaged (right on the pier) and 5th Ward for a more edgy look.

Either way I love how they turned out. Probably shouldn't have worried as much about it Smiley smile
