Can you Skype him in? I would probably save a seat for him and have a little sign saying, "Saved for BROTHER who would be here today if the Marine's didn't keep him so far away!"

You could play a song that means something to you both. Mention him in a toast maybe?

He wants me to play a song, peice by piece by Kelly Clarkson. Which means a lot to both of us considering our childhood BUT my dad will be there and he's walking me down the isle. I feel like that's a slap in the face to my dad.

No Skype unfortunately either.

Oh my goodness. My mom wants me to play that song too and I refuse. She told me to dance to it for my stepdad/daughter dance. Great song, just has no place at a wedding.

I saw a wedding on tv like "bride wars" or whatever that show was, and the bride had no idea - she's in the same situation as you- but her brother had prerecorded a message for her and her FH congratulating them and saying he wish he could of been there and they played it on a projector or big screen so everyone could see. Made me tear up watching it in my living room! So sweet. I love the saving him a seat idea too !

If you can get a life size cardboard cutout of him, you can have it at the ceremony and attendees can pose for fun pictures at the reception.
