Midwest July Brides!!

Hi ladies!!

I seriously just don’t know what to do or how to feel. My wedding is 7/11/20 and I live in Michigan about an hour away from Detroit. We invited around 150 people but I doubt that that many people would show up. We are on lockdown until as of now June 1. I’m torn in between postponing or just going through with it masks and all 🥴 what are other brides doing??

I’m in Illinois and our date is 7/25. I intended to invite the same amount as you. The governor is saying we can’t have gatherings above 10 people until we move into a certain “phase” of reopening. I really don’t want to postponed because we’ve been engaged 3.5 years but it’s looking like we will have to, until November.

I'm July 11th in Missouri. We're moving ahead with our wedding. We sent out invites last week and included an insert letting guests know we're monitoring the situation and if plans need to change (i.e. we need to limit guests to family only) we will notify them. Our state is not under any stay at home orders so we're trying to stay positive and hopeful that by the time the wedding rolls around things will be more calmed down.

July 25th in Milwaukee. I just don't know what to do. We are talking with the venue about a Plan B, which is good, but it's the decision that is giving me so much anxiety. Yes, things are starting to open up, but what will a gathering even be like since COVID isn't going away? I'm terrified of making the wrong decision.

Michigan is being pretty conservative with reopening- unfortunately I would highly doubt a gathering of that size being permitted in July. If you want to keep the guest list, I would suggest postponing. Have you spoken to the vendor at all?

    Hi!!

We are July 17th in South West Florida! Currently we are in Phase 1 of the Governor's plan which is opening up our restaurants at 50% capacity, hair and nail salons are open, and gyms opened this week. I am staying positive that all of this is a good sign, but also scary that it might backfire. We need to be at Phase 2 for our July wedding which allows gatherings of 50 people. Currently our guest list is right under that number so it would work out. Currently the state is at 10 or less people in a gathering. My biggest concern besides the state moving forward with the phases, is that 100% of my guests are out of state. Many from Indiana which their Governor wants things pretty much back to normal by July 4th, not sure that is happening, but at least they are moving forward. The rest of our guests are in VA and CA near the larger cities that are still on stay at home orders. Also one of my Bridesmaids in in the Navy and they have a travel ban in place until June 30th. Cutting it close, but as long as it is not extended we should be ok! I am so sad that the states being at different phases might be the reason something has to be postponed, but my fiance keeps telling me to have faith and I am in my heart and mind I am moving forward!! Just keep going day by day, planning the last little things and counting down! This past Sunday was the 2 month mark! I get my dress back this weekend from having the alterations done and I also get my 2nd dress which will be finished in 2 weeks. My fiance is originally from Pakistan so I am changing mid reception into more traditional Pakistani dress to surprise his family! So little things like that keep my spirit up!

I’m in Metro Detroit, and we are waiting to make a decision on our August 8th wedding. We have family all over the state and country, and also planned to have about 150 guests. Yesterday’s news was slightly optimistic considering Whitmer said we would be staying home until May 28th. She is making decisions day to day, so we are t giving up yet!
