Midnight snacks?

Sam, on October 4, 2011 at 2:33 PM Posted in Planning 0 17

Is anyone doing a "midnight snack"? I mean it may not be midnight but sometime between after the cake cutting and before the venue shuts down?

I was thinking about either mc.donalds burgers or ordering a ton of pizzas.

I really want to, but I haven't gotten that far in my planning yet. Still trying to price out my catering (it would help if I could decide what I want to serve), but if I'm under budget I am looking toward pizzas or pub finger food. I know that I always want munchy food when it gets to that hour and I'm still out and drinking.

Our wedding reception isnt that long, so once dinner is over and the whole cake thing happens, i plan on having the servers pass the cake around AGAIN (all the cake we'll have left over.... i dont want, lol... let ppl eat it) while we have our coffee bar set out in the evening. It ends at like 10pm, so it wont be bad... more cake should be fine!

Where we are, legally had to provide food as we provided alcohol for more than 6 hours. We just got meat/cheese/crackers, squares, left over dessert etc. and set it out at midnight with plates, utensils and napkins.

Yes, still haven't made a final decision on what but most likely things like pizza, sliders, and a gelato bar.

No we're not doing that, specially since our reception is only 3 hours and will be over at 10PM, we'll serve the cake, I might have a dessert table I guess everyone can go back and forth on that.

I saw that recently on four weddings, a bride serve cheeseburgers at the end, very neat idea.

I have been considering having pizzas delivered, thought would be a fun way to end the night! Then I don't have to worry about people roaming around looking for a fast food fix at midnight ;-) I need to check with vendor & see if we can bring outside food in before we decide for sure.

I agree with you Jessica, I know after a wedding im usually in a drive thru line up somewhere, but if I had that slice of pizza before I left it woud be great, and really my venue is open till 2:30 am how many people will be around come 12 anyways? Then again im in NL were all pretty close knit and love to party lol so they may all be there till were shuttin the lights off

We also served our left over raost beef, buns and pickles. It was delish, especially after a night of dancing!

We're doing cookies and milk about an hour before the reception ends.

Our venue has a couple choices for the late night snacks for the guests to take home. One they offer is mini tacos or mini cheesesteaks. Another is a Taste of Philly with bottled water, tastykakes, and soft pretzels. My FH thinks it would be a great idea to have the water & soft pretzels one for a snack on the way home. I don't like how much $$ it would cost compared to actually buying it myself, but it is one of the things he is really excited about - so I don't mind adding it. If I could bring in my own food & drink I would, but it isn't allowed unless it is an approved wrapped favor.

Definitely. I know when I drink, I get the munchies, MAAAAAAAAAAD. Not sure exactly what we will do. Maybe mini subs, like 3-4 inches, chips and cookies?

I love the midnight snack idea! My problem is, how do you chose the best after drinking snack?! lol I love the fast food fries or burgers or how about a hot dog cart or popcorn cart as the guests are leaving? Is that too carnival-ish? lol

I'm a big fan of breakfast food after partying hard - I'm from NJ and now live in Philly so after bar hoping a Diner (which are a dime a dozen in this area) is what I crave so might do some pancakes, sausage and scrambled eggs

I think Dunkin Donuts does the bite size sausage wrapped in pancake! They are really good.
