Middle Aged Flower girl? Is that too weird?

Right after I got engaged my aunt, who must be in her late 40's or early 50's, posted on my facebook wall that since I was a flower girl in her wedding, can she be the flower girl in my wedding? I didn't respond because I wasn't sure if she was joking or not, and if she was serious I didn't want to...

Right after I got engaged my aunt, who must be in her late 40's or early 50's, posted on my facebook wall that since I was a flower girl in her wedding, can she be the flower girl in my wedding? I didn't respond because I wasn't sure if she was joking or not, and if she was serious I didn't want to hurt her feelings. She has since then made another comment about it, so I think she is for real.

I was going to have one of my BM's daughter be the flower girl, but I recently found out that she is leaving her daughter with her in-laws so she and her husband can have a weekend to themselves, which I totally understand.

Now, I don't have anyone to be a flower girl. So would it be super weird if I asked my aunt? I think it would be kind of funny. What would you think if you were at a wedding and a 50 yr old was the flower girl?

It's a little weird to me, but if that's what you want, then you should have it. It's just that it seems that YOU think it's weird too, lol. I wouldn't do anything that makes you feel uncomfortable, lol.

I wouldn't do it as I would not want anyone asking for a role in our wedding. I would ask her to do a reading if you wanted to include her. I am 52 and the last thing I would want is to be a flower girl!!! I did it at ages 9 and 10 - that was enough for me.

If you want her to be your flower girl ask her. But don’t ask her if you’re only doing it because you feel obligated too. But it’s your wedding, don’t not do something you want, like have a grown woman be your flower girl, because people think it’s “weird”
