Microphone for Small Outdoor Ceremony?

Hello fellow brides! I’m struggling with the decision on whether we will need a microphone and speakers for our ceremony and wanted to get some opinions.

Our ceremony will take place outdoors in front of a historical house on April 10, 2021. We’re only having 17 people in attendance - this includes myself and FH, our parents, bridal party, and a few family members.
We figure since our bridal party will be up front with us and everyone else sitting in the front row, we’ll be able to project our voices. Anyone else using a mic for a small ceremony? Thanks in advance!

Your officiant doesn't have their own? Wireless mics work fine and can be rented (do not buy these) from a party rental business. With less than 20 people, unless you have hard of hearing guests in a loud area ( ocean, freeway, etc) you can skip the mics.

Skip the mics unless you absolutely need them. They are prone to issues and the microphone stand can get in the way of the photographer

We had 35 people and had a microphone for our officiant. I'm glad we did for our size - it was easy to hear her, particularly for our older guests, and didn't seem like overkill. But for your crowd size you'll probably be fine without one!

Check and see if your officiant comes with one! I feel like a lot of them offer a microphone free of charge

Unless you're live streaming the ceremony, I wouldn't bother with a microphone. If you're streaming it, then you may want one so guests at home can actually hear.
