My fiancé and I are getting married on 6/1/19 on our 10 year anniversary at Barrister Gardens. It’s actually where we went to prom together but they’ve renovated it to look completely different and stunning in person.

Our colors are sky blue and sage green. We are incorporating succulents, thistles, and other simple flowers into our arrangements so the flowers don’t take over.

We are currently still undecided on our ceremony location, as our reception venue does not have a designated space for it. Any suggestions on chapels or indoor locations would be extremely helpful!

For my tip, I suggest asking any family if they would be interested in helping. My aunt used to be a professional florist and has offered to do all of our flowers at the low cost of the flowers only. Everyone loves to be involved so don't be afraid to take someone up on their offer!

Hi Ashley! Welcome to WeddingWire and congrats on your engagement! Your anniversary wedding date is so sweet and I absolutely love your color palette & style!

We have many ceremony venues listed here on WeddingWire in your area under our Venues tab! You can filter here by proximity, your wedding date, guest count, setting, request pricing, and more.

That's great that your aunt is going to be your florist! You mentioned the succulents, thistles, and other simple flowers into your arrangements & decor but will these also be in your bouquet? What are you doing for your bouquet? Smiley smile

We are in the process of finding a church that will perform a wedding for non members, easier said than done. We're planning to have our reception at Grafton Hall in Carleton MI. There is an option to hold the wedding there as well for an additional cost of 1,000, but I think i'll pass on that. There is a local owned family restaurant in Brownstown Township MI called Baldo's and they have the best Italian food & pizza around and for now that's the plan for our rehearsal dinner. We are probably going to be going to Frankenmuth MI for our honeymoon. I already have a dress i'm thinking of at David's bridal, just haven't gone in yet. We both like the fall so that's when it will probably be, mose likely October. I may have some fresh apple cider and cinnamon doughnuts for my guests since it's the time of the year for that

Our church, which is in Coopersville, so I'm having it all sourced locally. The farthest out of the area is Grand Rapids, MI, which is where our DJ is located at. The church I'm having the wedding at is Central Family Worship Center, the reception is at Coopersville VFW. It's just renewing our vows but I have most all of it planned out. All I need are the replies back as to who will and who won't be coming, seeing as how it's also my Husband's birthday.

    Hello there!

My FH and I will be getting married July 19, 2019 at Stafford's Perry Hotel in Petoskey, MI. We will be having our ceremony and reception outside in the Rose Garden Veranda, which works great for not having to order a ton of flowers since we will be surrounded by them. I think there is no better way to incorporate Michigan than overlooking the bay. We will also be having a menu that reflects Michigan as well. I personally am not from Michigan, my FH grew up in Petoskey and I fell in love with the area while visiting two summers ago! I am planning everything from Northern Colorado, so wedding planning has been based solely off of internet reviews and personal references, which has been kind of frightening (I'm not going to lie), but we are SO excited. Invitations are about to go out since almost everyone has to travel there and from then on we are just waiting on numbers to book the food, alcohol, and desserts. We are waiting to hear back on hiring a trolley for photos and transportation to different photo opportunities so fingers crossed that will come through! I cannot wait for our big day!

My FH and I are getting married July 13, 2019 at the Clown Band Shell in Scottville (Mason County) and the reception is in the Optimist Hall right by the Band Shell. Our wedding is outdoors and our reception is indoors, so that way, no one’s getting totally overheated. Praying for good weather. Our theme for our wedding is “Titanic” because that’s one of our favorite films and we love a lot of the quotes from the film, which we’re painting one of the quotes from the film on the aisle runner. My something blue is the Heart of the Ocean necklace that my FMIL got for me off of wish.com . She also is making little life boats out of popsicle sticks and those will hold the Life Saver mints. The picture shown is the dress I have picked out for my girls to wear. Also, we’re having my FH’s nephew carry a sign down the aisle saying “Uncle PoPo, here comes your bride!” (My FH was going to school to be in criminal justice when his first niece arrived into the world, but that fell through, but his nieces and nephews still call him Uncle PoPo)

My FH and I get married in 43 days and we will be having our ceremony at Mayfield Pond Park in Kingsley, MI. No aisle runner, just changing leaves and lush grass. If we have snow, theres a rustic pavilion with a a fireplace as a backup. My arbor was made by my father, so its extra special to me. My aisle will be lined with white pumpkins and electric candles (no flames at the park). My bridesmaids will be wearing floor length, royal purple dresses with silver shoes and jewelry. My son will toddle with a little white pillow (fake rings) in a suit with purple tie and black leather shoes.

Afterward, we will be doing our pictures on a dock in Fife Lake, MI (changing leaves & beautiful water) and finally our reception will be at Hulwick Event Center in Fife Lake. Our centerpieces are white pumpkins and our flowers. Outside the hall will be hay bales and potted flowers. We are keeping decorations minimal because the hall itself is beautiful.

We are having a small intimate wedding with 8 guests in St Ignace, on the shores of Lake Michigan. We are going through Elope Up North.

Our wedding date is 10.15.20, so hopefully we will have the lovely fall colors with our backdrop.
Planning for an outdoor ceremony, and taking our guests across the Bridge to Dixie Saloon.
The two days following our wedding, we’re taking our guests to Mackinac Island, were we got engaged, hiring a private carriage tour and then a meal on the first day. The second day we’re going bike riding around the island, so we can take some photos at arch rock where my FH proposed, but also to enjoy more active things that our parents won’t want to do.
To me, it’s a Pure Michigan wedding in one of my favorite places in our wonderful and beautiful state.
We’re going to have our honeymoon in Traverse City. Can’t wait!!!
