Miami in August/september?

Has anyone traveled to Miami in August/September? Is it a huge mistake to go during either of these months? MOH was planning bachelorette party for September but I've heard it's the worst month for FL's hurricane season. Is August any better? Would love to hear from those that are familiar with Miami! Or, if there's another destination suggestions!

I live in Florida. September is definitely typically more active regarding tropical weather than August. But honestly it's all just a gamble. Even without tropical events, weather is so unpredictable here. Prepare some indoor things just in case.

August is better than September hurricane wise. So I’d do August the earlier in August the better.

Hey Brittany! Have you decided when you will go to Miami? I'm sure you would have a great time no matter what, but it would be a real bummer if it rained for your entire stay!

I live in Miami. First off, it’s hot as hell that time of the year for anything outdoors.
Also hurricane season is a threat, and of course the rain. If you pick an indoor venue that will give you a refund if weather is bad then it’ll be ok.
