Merry Christmas!! (eve) guest book ideas?

If you don't have an interest in a guest book, it's totally fine to skip it! If you really wanted to do one, consider whether you want a traditional style book, or something usable, or something to display in your home.


For a traditional style book, you could do a normal book with names/handwritten notes, or you could do a photo guest book with instant cameras, or you could do a book where everyone fills out a card offering advice and puts it in an envelope in the book (such as the one in the photo below).

For something that is a little more practical, you could do something like having everyone sign Jenga pieces and then you could use them on game nights. Puzzles pieces are another option. Or have everyone sign wine bottles that you'll open on various anniversaries.

For something that you can display, think about what types of things you would actually want to display as decor around your home. If you and your fiance are sports fans, you could get your favorite team's jersey (or a baseball bat or a few hockey pucks or anything else sports related) and have everyone sign it, then frame it and display it. If you are religious, you could get a cross or other religious symbol to have everyone sign, and display that in your home. Or, you could get artwork with designated places for people to sign their names (such as the sign in the image below).

If you really don't think you'd ever display it or look at it again after your wedding, it's totally fine to skip.

We did a picture book guest book with all our engagement pictures. I love it! I love that we can look back on the sweet notes our guests wrote us. It sits on a shelf with out other Shutterfly books, including books with wedding pictures.

One of the presents we got for our engagement was a puzzle!! You gave me an idea we can incorporate this as part of the guest book somehow

We just did a traditional guestbook, but I made sure to order one with extra page and used it as a scrapbook/photo book, so that we all the wedding memories are together in one place

To be really orioginal you can have a vocal guest book :

I was a guestbook attendant at many weddings growing up and an very common theme is that only 1/4-1/3 of the guests will sign it. This is even with passing the book around the room or someone making an announcement. That experience made us decide to skip the guest book and all alternatives. Otherwise we would have chosen a photo matte to sign around an invitation.

We had a board with our picture and everyone signed it. We hung it in our house along with pictures from the wedding around it.
