Menu

Hello 💕

If we are having a plated dinner does it look weird not to have a menu at the table? My FH thinks its unnecessary since we are going to include the menu in the RSVP so they can select their menu choice. Thoughts?

It's absolutely not necessary to have a menu at the table. It sounds like your guests already know what they're eating since they sent in their RSVPs. Save the money and scrap the table menus. If you have concerns about it, think about making a large sign near the welcome table that lists the menu. That way you only have to make one thing and don't have to worry about making, printing, and setting up the multi-table menus.

To me a menu is a list of options.
When I order at a restaurant, they take away the menu, because I've made my selection.
They chose their option already, and giving them a menu suggests they can change their mind.

I don't think you need a menu. If the concern is people remembering what they ordered when the RSVP'd you could always write or print it on the inside or back of their escort card if you are doing those.

Definitely not necessary, even if they don’t choose their meal beforehand. We did not have to include meal choice on ours and the only reason we are having a menu is because the venue provides them.

I think it's not necessary, but offers a nice touch. If it's in your budget I would go for it plus I think most guests would appreciate it. We're doing buffet style, so no menus for us!

I don't think a menu is a necessity. I'd decide this way closer to your wedding, to see if you have leftover money to order them.

They are not necessary but are helpful because usually all the sides and sauces are listed on the menu but not on the RSVP card. As a guest, I like to see what I'm eating and what's included in the meal. If you don't want to print one for each place setting, you could frame a few for each table so guests can see them. However, these are usually so cheap to print and/or make that having them at each place setting is a nice, inexpensive touch.

Hi Emma! Do you think you will create this large sign with the menu as a compromise? How is your planning coming along otherwise?

I'm sorry but really don't understand this trend and wouldn't do a menu even if it was buffet.

Just seems like a waste of a tree and more trash for the dump (or hopefully maybe recycling).
