Menu cards - yay or nay?

Future Mrs. Danger, on August 30, 2019 at 4:49 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 34
We are having a buffet style dinner and my thoughts were with a menu card at their table, guest could get an idea of what they may want vs standing in line and pondering.
Any thoughts on this anybody? Anyone done these and have some input?

If you have extra room in your budget and want to add some personal touches, go for it. As far as saving time, most buffet lines I've been in have moved slow enough that guests can make decisions as they go without really holding up the line.

I agree with Caytlyn. If you have the budget and you want them it's a cool idea.

It’s a cool idea and I started to make them and just decided it was 1 more thing to worry about.

I feel like menu cards are pretty unnecessary unless you’re actually ordering from it. With buffets, people don’t spend that much time figuring out what they want. Since the line moves gradually, guests are already looking ahead at the next dish. The slowest part about a buffet is when guests serve themselves versus catering staff doing the serving.

We’re doing a buffet and menu cards. I thought they’d add a nice touch to the table setting and guest won’t have to wonder about what they’re getting to eat since they didn’t pick their meal choices

I personally wouldn't do menu cards. I'd put money that would be spent on that toward something else Smiley smile

So I made a chalkboard sign to put in the buffet line so people could be thinking of what they want standing in line, and instead of menu cards I found these on Zazzle and will put them at each place setting. I think it adds a nice personal touch

It's a really cool idea, but I have to agree about it being one more unnecessary thing to worry about.

This will be super cheap. The template on etsy was $3 and the 50 sheets of paper cardstock are $5 at hobby lobby. Printing and cutting will be done at work.
    Thanks!

Its costing literally $8 to do. Etsy download for the template and nice 50 pack card stock at hobby lobby (on sale of course) $5. This will make 100 cards.

I'm doing them myself but I completely agree with your comment above. Super easy to do with a template from Etsy or whereever

No. If they can’t tell what the item in a Pan is, then they have bigger problems.
