We got our wedding photos back this weekend so I had to come share. The day was perfect. Except if I did it over, I'd make sure to make time to play corn hole.
Tips and such:
- Highly recommend day/month of coordinator. Ours had an amazing team who perfectly executed our vision and all the pieces we had spent so much time planning for so long. Can't imagine the day without her. Apparently our appetizer caterer showed up late, and I never knew! So thankful someone else was dealing with things like that instead of me or our families.
- Go with your gut. Don't do things because that's "typical." I felt really pressured at first to do bridals, but work 80 hours a week some months and was incredibly stressed about finding time to schedule them. In the end, I canceled them and applied the money towards videography with our photographer. Haven't seen the video yet, but already SO thankful I did this. She took a few "bridal" shots the day of, and I don't miss doing an entire shoot at all. So glad I got over feeling "pressured" by what's the "norm."
- So if you can't tell from looking at our pictures, we love Star Wars.... and Legos... and being foodies. Personal touches really make the day. I was worried for a bit that maybe we weren't being "traditional" enough. Maybe people wouldn't like Asian dumplings from the restaurant where we had our first date. I got worried when I read a thread on here a few weeks before the wedding about flower crowns that I made a mistake (apparently they're "out", lol). And then I saw it all the day-of, and thought, "Duh. No. This is us. This is all so perfect." Everyone complimented us after on how "us" the wedding was, how much fun they had, and how delicious all the food/ice cream/cake was. Bottom line, you do you.
- Savor it. Soak up all the time with your significant other and those you love. It goes by so fast.
