Hey guys,

I am looking for a little advice since I am feeling very defeated. Our wedding is scheduled for May 30th 2020. All of my wedding showers have been cancelled. I also have had a good amount of guests message me and ask if we are postponing the wedding. I honestly don't know what to do or tell them. We really do not want to postpone, but will do whats necessary for our guests. Does anyone have any advice?

I honestly would say wait it out till April and see...bc it also depends what state you are in. Here in NYC we can't have no-more then 10 ppl gatherings...smh so I'm just watching for updates until April (mid) and take it from there. Most brides are just playing it safe so they have no worries they are postponing till later in the year. Our date is set for May 23rd and we going to wait it out !!!

That's what we were thinking about doing too. It just sucks because we have about 75% coming from out of state. So they are all asking if they should cancel their flights and I don't know what to say to them... Waiting until mid April is going to be so hard. Especially since I've lost all motivation to plan the wedding since I don't want to get my hopes up.

I am in the exact same boat, and we are May 30 also. I've been waiting, hoping, praying......nope. Today we had to make the decision to postpone. Our venue is being super cool. But they were forced to close down, then the time was extended, and now it's "undetermined" when they'll be able to reopen. Then we started hearing things from our wedding party, restrictions that were going to make it either very difficult, or impossible to attend. What? So, as much as we didn't want to cancel/postpone, and just go through with our plans, it's looking more and more like we're not going to get the wedding we want on May 30, 2020. So, let's start the process of postponing (it's a lot of work!) now, and give people as much notice as possible. Especially since we knew that some of our guests had already made travel plans from out of state. Hopefully they can get flight credits they can use for our new date.

It's frustrating, for sure. I was 68 days away from my dream wedding. I feel like I've had the rug pulled out from underneath me. Now begins the long wait for a far off date next year, when I will again count down to the days of my dream wedding. I will have it!!! So will you! Smiley love

Do you mind me asking what star you live in? As of right now our venue(Minnesota) is still going forward with the any weddings after May 15th. But that could change as the more positives start showing up. I totally get how you feel. I’ve lost all happiness on planning the wedding. I just don’t want to get my hopes up that we will still be able to have it...

We are in northern California, in the SF Bay Area. So we've got a statewide shelter in place, and all non essential businesses closed until further notice. They are supposed to reevaluate on April 18, but there's no guarantee they will lift the restrictions at that time. If California has a significant number of new cases by then, they will probably put it out another 30 days.
I hope you're able to go forward on your day! Good luck!

I am getting married May 2nd in AZ and I definitely feel this. I have been so stressed at the thought of postponing the day. I’ve been going back and forth on eloping if push comes to shove just so we can keep our date. I have a beautiful princess dress and the thought of not celebrating with everyone in it breaks my heart 😩

Also May 30th, we decided to postpone to September. Our venue books a year in advance so they had extremely limited weekend availability, otherwise we would have waited a few weeks and decide then.

Oh No, That makes me extremely sad.. Yeah I sent out my invites because I already bought them so I thought people should see them. We are staying positive that things will get better by the time May comes around but I guess you never know whats going to happen. I am so sorry that you had to postpone

We are trying to stay positive. I know that's extremely hard right now. We just sent out our invites with an extended RSVP date. I am really hoping that this will all be over. Have you talked to your vendors yet?

I just want to say how sorry I am Kaci, and I hope you can still find some joy these days. We've seen some of our members really making the best of the situation and finding some positives, even in postponement. Maybe some of them might cheer you up a little if you have to postpone - but there's no need to stop being hopeful yet!!Smiley heart

Hey everyone, just an update. We have decided to postpone our wedding until Sept 5th, 2020. It was a hard decision to make however, it was the only day all of our vendors were available.Smiley cry

We also made the decision to postpone our May 2nd wedding as hard of a decision it was...to Sept 4th 2020. We feel a little relief now that we don’t have to stress about everyone coming.
