Anyone ever do a mashed potini bar? (mashed potatoes in a martini glass with a bunch of toppings) If so, was it a hit or miss? Thank you

    I've never heard of it called this so because the name was odd I never clicked the thread. I had this with mushrooms, gravy, sour cream, bacon bits, and cheese. It was a huge hit and the only place that had a line all day. So good.

    We're doing it and super excited for it. We've never attended a wedding that had one and our families love mashed potatoes so we're pretty sure it will be a hit.

    You could give me mashed potatoes in a coffee mug or a dixie cup. I love them.

    I love it, and the martini glass does control the portion while looking a little 'fancy". I think you could add it, for sure!

    We used to do 'regular' mashed potatoes and sweet mashed potatoes with;

    sauteed mushrooms and/or onions

    gravy

    sour cream

    chives/scallions

    butter

    bacon

    blue cheese

    and then for the yams;

    maple syrup/mini marshmallows/candied ginger/raisins/

    One of my venues here does a mac and cheese bar that is similar (with little crocks) where they sauté it to order and then have mix ins.

    Perfect!!! What time do I show up?

    You're probably off that day Celia... It's a Monday holiday. And that dog would love you... She's a hugger.

    Never had this at an actual wedding, but tried it at a bridal show a few weeks ago and my fiance, friends and I loved it. I'd be pretty excited if I saw it at a wedding.

    I came across a venue that offered this, and thought it was the best idea ever! FH and my mother both looked at me like I was crazy. Glad to see I'm not alone here.

    That's such a good idea! Definitely stealing it, FH and I are doing all of our favorite foods and mashed potatoes are definitely on the list!
