Mary Kay pampering session

Southernbabe, on September 1, 2017 at 2:16 PM Posted in Planning 0 20

Has anyone been selected from the David's bridal drawing for a free Mary Kay pampering sessions and the free swag bag? I got an email and will be attending one next Sunday. If anyone has been let me know how did it go, was it fun and helpful or a waste of time.

I've always enjoyed Mary Kay parties/pampering sessions. But, their goal is to sell you product or better yet get you to become a consultant.

Its a total sham. They don't pamper you at all. You apply products to your own face and then they try to recruit you.

I received the same email. I didn't reply because I think they really just want you to buy their products.

Oh okay. When I talked with the lady she told me its for me and up to 6 of my bridesmaids and it's completely free. What all will they do? I have never attended one before. Never even used Mary Kay products

I used to work for Mary Kay. Just a heads up, everyone who enters is a winner of a pampering session. They are fun and you will get pampered to some extent, but it is all to sell your products or become a consultant. Go in with the mind of "I won't become a consultant or fall or the tricks." A lot of times you can win free stuff which is always a good thing.

I received that email, didn't reply, then got a follow up email a few weeks later. I really don't feel like "wasting" an afternoon or evening to be recruited or feeling guilted into purchasing things that I dont need/ won't use. ETA: I didn't even shop at David's Bridal!

They basically tell you how to out makeup on and educate you about their products.

They're trying to get you to buy some Mary Kay and they are very convincing

    It's a sales pitch.

Lol well I'm getting very many negative results. I'm not attending. What all was in the swag bag? Is it even a nice bag?

I signed up for a bridal show, and didnt even go to the show, and the consultant kept calling and basically harassing me and my voice mail to get me to do it.

I did one with a friend a few months ago. Totally just guilt you into buying their stuff. I won one in an email and I'm ignoring it.

My bridesmaids and I and both mom's had one.we really enjoyed it. We got together had lunch talked about the wedding and played in make up. The consultant didn't pressure us in any way.

I won one and it was so much fun! We enjoyed it- my skin looked & felt super smooth. Learned a few things too. At the end they showed us how to get products if we wanted to (just like the spa does) but there wasn’t any pressure.

I was selected, but don’t think I will take them up on it. I mean, I live 20 minutes from DB and the consultant lives nearly 3 hours away! When she first told me, she said she was driving through the next day and could come to my house (timing did not work for me) or I had to drive to her. I asked her to let me know if she comes through again, but I haven’t heard anything since July/August.

I am surprised they are offering it from someone so far away. It seems ridiculous to me.
