Married couples who didn’t have videographer? Did you regret it?

I am trying to justify $1500 on video budget...when there wasn’t one originally.

I am struggling with this too. Our photographer has one that works only with her, so we can add him last minute if we want, but it is just so expensive. I do love watching other people's videos though.

Due to recent medical bills, we can't have a videographer anymore. We were on the fence to begin with because it's just so expensive, but now we can't- so I guess that settles that. I can see us regretting it, but yeah- huge expense.

We can't have one either. We spent $2700 on an amazing photographer but can't justify another $1200 on a videographer. It's tough and I'm hoping we won't regret it but it's ok. I would love to just compile videos from family and friends and make a "video collage" for us.

I'm struggling with this too. I can't justify it yet. I have to see if I have any $$ leftover after flowers and my dress and I might splurge. But can't do it yet

I am not hiring one because I feel we will never watch the video after the first month. I think the photos are used more and seen more. The videographers are so expensive for 3-5. minute of footage and to me that is NOT worth it. We spent about $3600 on our photographer so Im sure that will suffice and we will not miss it.

I would say have someone record you ceremony and thats it, maybe do a voice recording instead of video. You probably won't watch the rest anyway.

I didn't regret it for my first wedding- I never once watched the (free) video that came with our package, so I didn't even consider it this time.

I believe my fiance is planning to have a livestream set up for those friends who are too far away and can't attend, but we also have professional sound and lighting crews working our wedding since we're getting married in the theatre my fiance works at. I don't see the need to hire a professional videographer as a result of that!

After my first wedding I regretted not having a video so I made it a priority for this wedding. I'm so glad I did! DH and I have watched our highlights video several times and we had a fun time with his family watching the edited full version. After planning so much and all the little details, I wanted to be able to see it from my guests' perspective. The day flies by so having the video was a great investment.

I can't even begin to tell you how much I regret it. A year and a half later and I'm STILL so sad about it. My one and only wedding regret. Smiley cry Smiley cry Smiley cry

We didn't have a videographer and I don't regret it at all. My husband and I had beautiful photos, and we just couldn't justify the cost. For us it definitely wasn't worth cutting something else from our budget for.

Didn't regret it at all. i hired a photographer who was amaaaaaazing though so i trusted that she'd capture everything we wanted. i also hate seeing myself on video, so videography was never really something we considered. my friends who have had them have never watched their videos.

Yep. I will tell you though, from my perspective spending $1,700 on a videographer will likely be a waste of money (at least in my area). To get a quality video I would have had to spend $5,000 or more, and that I just couldn't justify, and I didn't want to waste money getting a crappy video.

Look into WeddingMix! They rent you camera equipment and go pros and then you send it in and they edit it for you and send it back. Their packages start at $200.

I debated it so much and ended up not getting one. It's barely been a week and I do regret it. I have pics of special moments but only a few cell phone videos.

Try Thumbtack there may be some affordable one in your area. A lot of the vendors have reviews both good and bad so you can decide who you want to go with.

My last wedding got recorded by a friend. We watched it once in 17 years so it would have been a waste. Idk what we will do this time
