Marriage License

I've also been thinking about this. We're in IL and our county clerk's office is closed and only offering licenses for emergency marriages. We were thinking about going to another county that might be open by appointment, but then can we get married via Zoom if our officiant doesn't live in that county? All govt websites seem to be very vague about this issue.

View Quoted Comment I did the pre-application online first. Then if you go out to the site, there is a “contact us” section. You send a message with your name, email, and phone number. They will then contact you and arrange the appointment.

Any CA brides been able to get their marriage license?

Ugh. I’m in Ohio and we have to have our license issued in the county we live in which is currently only issuing emergency licenses. We already cancelled our wedding and planned to still get married on our original date with only family. We are now 3 weeks away with no idea whether or not we will be able to get a license and I just want to know. Not being able to plan is the worst.

Hey Kari I just wanted to let you know that I finally just heard back from my local (Portsmouth) town hall finally and they told me that they won't be opening until AT LEAST June!! I was shocked they let me know before the Gov made any announcement but figured I'd let you know that it looks like NH is keeping town offices closed for a while I just e-mailed Concord to see if we can set up a time to get our license there

Thanks so much for checking and thinking of me. I'll call Keene later today or tomorrow to see what our options are. I know our Mayor has canceled all in person meetings through next month for regular town meetings anticipating that the current orders will be extended. When I called Concord the woman on the phone was super nice, so if you don't have any luck with email I would suggest calling them. Good luck!

Yes the concord lady was sooo nice, I just spoke to her earlier! She guaranteed us that she will make a meeting with us beginning of June if our local office isn't open yet Best of luck!!

Any WA brides have issues getting their license?

So I just checked here in Ventura County and they are now issuing them beginning Monday!!! I called and got an appointment right away. I've been checking the county website every couple days hoping for a change in policy and finally it happened!! Good luck to you
