So my boyfriend and I have been talking engagement for some time and the ring we both have fallen in love with is a marquise style ring but I am in nursing school and wondering if anyone has one and experienced a lot of problems ripping gloves and if I should see if we can find one that I love...

I'm just worried I won't be able to wear it at work.

My sister is a nurse, and her plan is to wear the engagement ring (when she's working) on a necklace chain around her neck. She was worried about gloves, but also just it getting damaged or lost. Just another idea!

I'm a nurse and had a Marquise solitaire diamond my first marriage I wore for 11 years. I never ripped a glove because I told the jeweler I was a nurse and they rounded the prongs on top of the diamond. I actually took gloves into the jewelry store and put them on to make sure they wouldn't rip.

I second WED1819. I used to wear my engagement ring to work and clinical, but had to have it redipped from what I assume was related to hand sanitizer. I talked with a jeweler and she mentioned it is very harsh on rings. After that experience I started wearing a QALO ring.
