Is it weird that I want my best friend of 11 years, who is a guy, to be my maid of honor? I won't put him in a dress or anything, but I can't imagine anyone else that I want for that role. He'll keep me grounded and sane better than anyone. Anyone other brides out there with men in their bridal...

Anyone other brides out there with men in their bridal party?

I do! I have two Bridesmen! Do it. Your wedding should be about you. I love when a wedding reflects the bride and groom, and isn't just a "bunch of things" thrown in because that's what you're "supposed" to do.

I am getting married in 3 months and this is a big problem with us...I have a friend who is GOING to be my man of honor...I'm not going to just pick some friends wife or girlfriend because of their gender....he's not gay and somehow that would make it more acceptable to my fiancée...this is the ONE thing I'm sticking too though...and if my fiancée can't accept me having a guy stand behind me bc he doesn't want to see a man behind me at the alter,( on a beach), although this "brother" has been the one to keep me sane and in this relationship and has talked me through the male side of things just as I have the female ways with him....I will not budge for this....I love seeing all of this recent Bro-maid and Man of honor posts bc he can maybe see it's not just me and all of us powerful females and even males don't need the same gender to boost us up
