Man of Honor & Chief Bridesmaid

Bryanna, on June 20, 2022 at 11:06 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 6
Hi guys!
I am having my brother be my Man of Honor. I also want to give my female cousin an important role but she is not married so can’t be Matron of Honor. I didn’t want a Maid of Honor and a Man of Honor. Has anyone run into this? Is there a different “title” I can give her besides bridesmaid?

I don't know why you can't have both a maid and man of honor? My sister had a maid and matron of honor. It worked fine.

This is a great idea and there are no hard and fast rules regarding this. You can creatively do your wedding any way you want! I find it the more you deviate from tradition the more fun and engaging weddings can be. Great idea!!

You can have two maids of honour, two best men, or two of anything. There are no rules.

Personally I like woman of honour/man of honour. I don't really know why for women maid/matron is a thing vs for men its not.

I agree with this. Woman is the corollary to man. I know we are all used to maid and matron, but really, it's pretty outdated to give women different titles based on marital status when that doesn't happen for men.
