Is it possible to have a man of honor and maid of honor?
my best friend is male and lives in LA, and is one of my closest friends but far away, and I have a close friend that lives here in Michigan with me that’s been helping with most of my planning and I was wondering if it’s possible to have both?

My bestie couldn't decide between me and her 2 two other beasties from another state, so she just made all 3 of us MOH. My cousin also has a male best friend that was an attendant at her wedding. I don't see the harm in having both.

I have a male best friend that I asked to officiate the wedding! He will get ordained and my closest female friend will be MOH (they are both out of state now as well)

Of course it's possible. You can do whatever the heck you want. I'm having a maid of honor and a man of honor only. My FH is having a best man and a best woman only.
