Making the day special

My fiancé was diagnosed with cancer and our big wedding day is turning into an intimate ceremony in between chemo treatments. Having a wedding and reception was really important to him to celebrate our love with family and friends. Due to his immune system, we’re only having parents present. We will have a photographer and someone to film the ceremony. He doesn’t want to have a vow renewal or reception when he is well because of the costs and time spent planning. Any times on how to make the day extra special for him? I thought about possibly having a picnic with our parents after the ceremony and we are going to do a first look.

    Sorry to hear about your fiancé. Could you possibly have your ceremony on a zoom call and afterwards you guys could get on the call and thank everyone who streamed it. Also a picnic with your parents could be really sweet and intimate. You can even have some of his favorite things to eat. Maybe have place pictures of you both around the yard.

    Love Clarissa’s ideas! A champagne toast maybe nice and perhaps his father or yours could prepare a few words. Always nice to hear kind words about yourself as the couple. If you do decide to livestream, for what it’s worth, I have loved attending livestream events this past year and as a guest have had a very enjoyable experience. All the best to you and your fiancé and wishing you good health! ❤️

    I love the picnic idea and definitely think you should include the rest of your friends & family over livestream!! You could also exchange special gifts, make a surprise photo slideshow of the two of you, or play video messages from people you want to include in a special way!
