Makeup Setting Spray

EGal92014, on March 17, 2014 at 1:47 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 15

Has anyone ever used Model in a Bottle or any other various makeup setting spray? I am very interested (this girl is a crier!) but the reviews online are all mixed. Is waterproof foundation, mascara, etc. enough?

What are your suggestions?

Waterproof mascara for sure but I have never tried a waterproof foundation.

I use Urban Decays "All nighter" make up setting spray. It works for me, and my makeup has lasted hours. I have not tried it through a cry fest though so I dont know if its "water proof". Make sure you shake it up well, (its on the directions), and keep it far from your face when you spray it. Its supposed to mist you, but if your too close, it will spray too heavy and give you a "wet" look, (which you can then fix with a pressed powder).

I use Urban Decay's All Nighter Setting spray as well and highly recommend it. It is made by the same people who make Skindinavia. I have heard that Model in a Bottle is better though.

I had a makeup artist do my makeup for my engagement photos and she used a setting spray. I have no idea what kind it was but can find out because it worked really well and we were outside in the sun for a few hours!

I have to agree with the urban decay recommendations, that's what I'll be using.

Urban Decay is wonderful. You should also search old threads, this topic gets covered a lot.

As far as makeup setting sprays I love Ben Nye Final Seal! It's geared towards performers/ people who do theater so you don't sweat off makeup under the hot stage lights and its only $6.50 for a 2oz bottle. Ive used it for performances and for special occasions and its never let me down

I just recently started using Urban Decay De-Slick spray. I sweat at the drop of a hat and have oily skin, and it has seemed to help.

I have used model in a bottle and was not impressed and would not recommend it. After a while I was even a little muddled. The Nye spray is my next try and is in the mail - that's what they use as someone said before on performers and used to be (not sure if still) on the Disney characters. I may try the urban decay as well if everyone likes that!

I've seen Urban Decay, Ben Nye and MAC setting sprays be used on brides by my cousin who's a makeup artist. These all withstand sweat and tears which is great! There are also formulas for oily skin, just be sure to choose a setting spray that is made in the US (read labels) as opposed to a Chinese Factory. Those could be harmful to your skin and body!
