Makeup and freckles. UPDATE in comments: tried airbrush!

A good MUA will ask you what your vision is and go from there.

It's important that you feel comfortable and beautiful. I don't think it's rude at all to explain what you're thoughts are on face makeup, I'm sure she'll work with you.

Following. I'm a freckled face too. Playing with sheer foundations and bb creams, but super picky not happy with the coverage of freckles.

I've asked this for mine and she was all for it. FH loves my freckles, it's one of his favorite things about me, and hates when I cover them with makeup. His one request on my makeup (other than just not wearing any and finally accepted that that's not an option) was to not cover my freckles. I told my MUA this before booking and she said she can do whatever I want and will absolutely keep my freckles shown and not dull them at all

I would just talk to yours. I'm not a makeup artist so I can't say for sure, but I wouldn't think it would offend them

I caution you against not wearing ANY because you might look washed out in photos. Instead, I'd talk to your MUA about your concerns and see what she says. She might able to use a very thin powder or something that would show your freckles and still help your skin tone look even in photos.

No way girl. You're paying for her service. You tell her what you want and what don't you want. Don't feel bad at all.

I have a ton of freckles, pale skin and red headed. My makeup artist gave me good, natural coverage with airbrush makeup that still showed my freckles and allowed me to look just like myself but "done up". If it's a skilled artist with quality products they can do it. I rarely wear makeup on a day to day basis so I assume you that it wasn't caked on or I'd flip!

The MUA asked me if I wanted full coverage on my freckles or if I wanted to still see them. I did airbrush foundation and you could still see my freckles but I had enough coverage that I didn't look washed out.

As others have said, a good makeup person will cater to your vision/needs. I would definitely try going with a light powder or very low coverage foundation to even you out but still let your freckles show through.

Update: I tried airbrush makeup at my trial today. It is so much better than traditional makeup (for my face at least). It doesn't feel like my freckles are covered and it doesn't even feel like I'm wearing any makeup! For you freckled ladies, I would definitely suggest trying out airbrush! I still feel just a little weird since I regularly don't wear any makeup at all but it feels and looks natural to me and will look a little better in pictures than if I didn't do makeup at all. Plus this way my under eye coloring/eye bags can be blended in a bit.
