Make-up for Engagement Photos

I completely suck at makeup and only do the basics on myself. I know makeup should be darker for photos so I had mine done at Ulta.

I got a makeup artist. Ended up loving her so much that I booked her for the wedding :-)

I usually do not wear makeup so did not trust myself to do it for my engagement photos. I just went to ULTA and got my makeup done for the photos and it turned out great!

I did my own makeup, but I also plan on doing my own makeup for the wedding also.

I went to Sephora and actually got all my pre weddings make up there (engagement party, photos, boudoir shoot and bridal shower. It was much better and convenient for me.

Honestly, I had this same dilemma bc I do not generally wear make up. I kept feeling like l “should” have it done for pics but it just isn’t me. And while I wanted nice pics, I also wanted it to be me

I got mine done at Cherry Blow Dry Bar and I hated it. Wish I had done it myself

I went and got it done at a local beauty school. They did my make up and hair. I barely even own any makeup and was so happy I got it professionally done!

I’m going to get mine done at Sephora. Plus I need more blush & foundation so it’s a perfect excuse. 💁‍♀️

I got mine professionally done! She gave such good tips along the way that I’m going to end up asking her to do makeup and hair for my wedding. Very pleased. She also did my makeup a certain way that helped the look really pop in pictures.

I’m planning to schedule my makeup trial the same day as my engagement photo shoot. My back up plan would be to go to Mac or Sephora and have it done by one of the artists there. I know very little about makeup so I wouldn’t feel comfortable doing my own makeup for such an important event.

I did my own and loved it. It didn’t translate very much in the photos despite me having applied a lot extra for it to show up. My photos were done at about 5:30PM with majority in a shady area or area with some spots of sun peeking through. I did apply falsies (which I never wear), and they looked so good in the photos! I wanted more of a natural look. I’ve heard Ulta does a good job. I got an awful makeover at Sephora once I’m biased lol.

I had mine done at Ulta because I barely wear make up, and with the high quality of photos I was worried about doing it myself. Quite glad I did because if I had done it I would have been freaking out! It helped me calm down and enjoy the pictures knowing I looked awesome.

I want to get mine done professionally but I'm afraid I won't have time and will have to do it myself. The Sunday before our engagement shoot we're going out of town and I don't know if we will make it back in time for me to go to my makeup artist. She takes her time with her work and I know I'll probably be in her chair for about an hour and thirty minutes.

I’m getting mine done by the MUA that I booked for the wedding. It won’t be my “trial” because I don’t want my FH to see the exact wedding makeup during our engagement pictures. But it’s a good way to get comfortable with your stylist and what you want for the big day!

I will have a MUA for the wedding, but did my own make up; the same as I would everyday for our engagement photos
