Maine honeymoon help!!

Jessica, on January 5, 2017 at 9:53 AM Posted in Honeymoon 0 10

So my fiancé informed me that we are definitely taking our honeymoon right after the wedding! (We previously thought we wouldn't be able to afford it and would have to wait a year or so) we are definitely wanting to go to Maine and I'm trying to decide where to stay. We're looking at the York, ogunquit, Kittery area. We don't want a crazy expensive hotel or anything but I don't even know where to start!! Any help would be great!

I have been visiting Ogunquit since I was a baby. It's my favorite place in the US! I have so many hotel recommendations for you. Our favorite place to stay is the Gazebo Inn or 2 Village Square Inn. Each includes the most amazing breakfast and have the best outdoor hot tubs. Since you'll be going at the end of September the prices are cheaper which is great.

Edit: The Gazebo Inn has a better hot tub but the 2 Village Square Inn is walking distance to town and the beach.

Personally, I love Portland, ME. Tons to do and super close to the ocean. There are a lot of brewery tours (if you're into that kind of stuff), amazing restaurants, and little shops everywhere. When we stayed, it was at the Hyatt but I can't remember how much it was per night.

I second FutureMrsR Portland is a lot of fun, the Hyatt is in the middle of downtown and ideal if you want to go out and explore. Ogunquit is about 45 min drive away from Portland so you can see both if you have the time. I've also stayed at the Cliff House in York Maine, It was very nice and the views were awesome.

I live in Maine Smiley smile Ogunquit will be kinda desolate in September & there won't be too much to do. I'd recommend going to the mountains. Bethel, near Sunday River ski resort. SUPER pretty up there in September. There's always Portland. That's where I grew up. The Old Port is fun. Tons of shops & restaurants & bars,

Thanks all! We're looking for a quieter place on the ocean probably. We will do some driving and go and explore different areas but we'd prefer to stay somewhere a bit more quiet

If you're not set on Ogunquit or York, Bar Harbor would be beautiful in September....
