Maid of Honor

Jessica, on August 11, 2020 at 2:00 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 12
My sister is my maid of honor and wants to standout against the other bridesmaids. Any suggestions on something to make her standout but not look weird or what you have done in this situation?

She can wear either a shorter dress or a different style or a different color shade

I think the previous posts nailed it, Different color dress, larger bouquet, even a slightly different style dress for her.

My sister was my maid of honor. She had different flowers from the other girls. She also ended up with a different dress even though she was supposed to be in the same dress.

You could have her wear a belt on her dress, or you could have her wear a totally different dress or color than the other bridesmaids. Or, you can have her wear a fancy hair piece/headband to set her apart from the bridesmaids.

My maid of honor is wearing sparkly shoes to stand out and the rest are wearing like earth colored shoes. She could also wear a different dress or an extra accessory like a belt. They sell them at bridal stores

All five of daughter's BM wore the same dress, but she wanted her two MOHs to stand out in a subtle way. We bought some rhinestone trim at Hobby Lobby (it was probably 1/4-3/8" wide) and I sewed it over the waist seam for their dresses. Daughter's gown had a sparkly crystal & pearl belt (as well as other embellishments), so their dresses tied together well with hers. In the photos, I think the MOHs' dresses look really good with the "belt" detail -- I like them more than the BMs' dresses without the trim.

A wedding I went to the MOH had a belt/ribbon around her waist to stand out.

Maybe a different shade. I let my bridesmaids choose their own dress so they were different to begin with. If you are having them wear the same jewelry or shoes maybe have them switch it up.

An idea I really like is when the Maid of honor wears a sequin/glitter version of the bridesmaids dresses. So if everyone is wearing a pink dress, she wears a sequin/glitter pink dress.

I was good with my bridesmaids and moh wearing different dresses too but they all chose the same dress...so i gave my sister a different color shawl to help her stand out - or give her a different hair piece or accessory- like a belt. Shes wearing a gold shawl while the bridesmaids are wearing a burgundy one
