Maid of honor

Melany, on February 10, 2020 at 10:25 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 15
Hey gals!

I have a small situation that I need to find a solution on. So I live in PA and I have 2 bff’s. Bff #1 just moved to FL and I was her made of honor few months ago. Now I’m getting married this Oct and I had asked her to be my made of honor, however, I have another bff, bff #2, that lives here in PA close to me and she’s the one actually helping me with every single thing from my wedding, and she’s also always there for me. I really want bff #2 to be my made of honor but Idk how to tell bff#1 that I want bff #2 to be my made of honor. Can someone help me please!!!!

You shouldn't be selecting your maid of honor based on who helps the most, it should be the person/people whom you feel closest to. It's fine to pick your second friend if you want, but it's also fine to have two maids of honor.

Why not make them both! BFF 1 could be your matron since she is married and bff 2 could be the maid. That’s what i am doing with my sisters. My 1 sister i know won’t really be around to help much since she lives on the other side of the country and always busy with work but still selected her since we are close

I couldn’t decide between my sister & my best friend so I chose both 🤷🏼‍♀️ I love them equally and I want them to share the honor.

I agree with the first poster that you shouldn't choose someone as your maid of honor just based on who helps you the most. Cuz if that were the case and one of my friends old weddings and I should have been the maid of honor because I was a little more helpful than her maid of honor. But at the same time her maid of honor was her longest friend since high school. Like others have said just have two Maids of Honor or matron of honor and a maid of honor. That is, nowadays.

Why can't they both be MOHs? I don't think distance should stop someone from being your MOH. My MOH lives 1,700 miles for me.

I don't think I want a maid of honor because I love all my braids maids equally (sisters 2/bestfriends 2/cousin 1 /closest friend 1) and mostly can't choose.

I know, I am very close to both but had more memories with bff#1 than bff #2 even though I spend a lil more time now with #2. But thank you so much for replying. Ur thoughts have been really helpful!!!
