Magnetic Save the Dates

Private User, on November 19, 2013 at 8:25 PM Posted in Planning 0 12

I ordered my save the dates from Vistaprint and they are 4.25x5.5. I'm afraid that when I mail them out they may get stuck in the mailbox (due to the magnet). I've been searching for the same size cardstock or tissue paper but I'm unable to find just plain white in that size. I've found packs of cardstock in that size but in multiple colors. Could someone either recommend somewhere I can find plain white cardstock or tissue in that size or let me know if the save the dates will stick to the mailbox on the inside.

They aren't that magnetic. Once you have them in envelopes they don't stick to anything, not even each other.

I also had Vistaprint STD magnets. I had no problem with them sticking to each other, even in the thin, cheap envelopes that Vistaprint provides.

A friend had magnetic ones, and while they didn't seem to stick to anything...she sent me literally 4!!! And not one made it to me. She had several people that they just never made it to...the addresses were all correct. No clue where they are!

Lol. I just mailed mine.... for them from Vistaprint as well.

depending on what side you put them in the mailbox, they will stick to the box, but im sure the mailman will sort that out....

Something I didn't think about until after I ordered them... most people now have Stainless Steel Refrigerators, which means they will not stick on the fridge. I sent them out anyway, but sort of feel stupid.... Anyone else?

Our magnets don't stick to any of FH's appliances except the front of his microwave. It looks funny on there, but that's all we can do.

I sent a magnet to my MOH and she hasn't said anything...now I'm wondering if she didn't get it. Huh.

We sent save the date magnets with no problems. They didn't stick to the mailbox when I put them in, and, like others said, they didn't stick to each other. We didn't have any problems with them being delivered.

I think some of mine did stick to the inside of the mailbox. Seriously. There is no other explanation for where they went and all of my invitations made it just fine.

I did magnets and as stated above, once in envelope, they will be fine. I was a little concerned about them sticking to each other when mailing in bulk, but everyone got theirs. They go through a sorting system and all get separated anyway. I just put a bunch in the post office mailbox (inside the building as opposed to my own mailbox...I think they get sent out faster but have no proof of this). Don't worry about cutting cardstock, it will be fine. Trust me, they are a very popular Save the Date option and if you feel really nervous, just mail 2-3 first to a few local friends and ask them to text you when they get it. Should be within 2 days.

I ordered my magnets from Wedding Paper Divas. Mine still stick to my fridge even through the envelope and even with an extra piece of paper in between them, so I will be wrapping them in tissue paper in hopes that they all make it to their destinations.

Does anyone who ordered from wedding paper divas have an update? Mine stick to the fridge through the envelope and even with a piece of cardstock behind it. Any ideas?
