MAC Vs Airbrush

Mrs. Kommeren, on March 10, 2012 at 6:04 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 10

I have very oily skin, as well as combination skin. I use mostly MAC plus CoverGirl the Queen Collection for foundation and other products. I want to look flawless as well as naturally beautiful without the heavy makeup look and not worry about shining on my face halfway through the wedding. Any suggestions on which route I should go?

I know of a guy that airbrushed his makeup. He looks like a movie star! His makeup is always flawless! I too wear MAC normally, but if I can get someone to airbrush me like this guy I will go that route. Otherwise, I will get someone to apply my MAC!

Airbrush would definitely be good for you as you won't have to worry about shine and it lasts all day (and night from what I hear). It won't clog up your pores and allows your skin to breathe. That's what I am going with!

I also have oily skin and I had airbrush done... It started separating on me where I get oily and upclose it looked bad. I would go for a trial and wear it all day to see how it does before picking it. Im going back for another trial with MAC to see if it's better.

Airbrush makeup is available in silicone based and water based. Silicone is more dewey in appearance where as water based will have a matte appearance.

Separation should not happen if the skin is properly prepped and primed using the correct products.

MAC makeup may result in the skin having an ash color in photos. The SPF in the makeup causes flash back from the camera and on darker skin tones, it will have a gray tint on film.

The best bet for your skin type would be a water based airbrush foundation. It will keep shine to a minimum and will last throughout the entire day and night. Airbrush makeup is applied sheer and built up to the desired coverage. It is extremely lightweight and unmoveable once dried.

Look for a makeup artist experienced in photography and weddings. Makeup for your wedding day is applied differently than every day makeup wear.

    Best wishes!

I would definately go airbrush that is the way to go. I used to model and they always airbrushed my make up and it is so natural but will photograph great. Like Stephanie said it's different than everyday make up when your photographing. It's a different consistency and has to be applied much heavier especially if your going with B&W photos.

I am going airbrush - my first make-up trial was at 9am and the airbrush was still flawless at about midnight.

Airbrush makeup will not stop your skin from making oil, although it will stay better longer. I think airbrush is the way to go...but you should get a skincare specialist (an aesthetician) to get you not the proper products (moisturizer) to reduce your skins oil production.

    Good Luck
