MAC or BareMinerals...??

Check out the post I put of my second hair trial and make up today, the make up artist used bare minerals, and I think it turned out awesome.

I have experience with this! I was using bareminerals before my wedding, liked it but i went it through it so fast b/c i like coverage! We flew to our wedding and my mom was using MAC and the morning of my wedding we tried her makeup on me and I LOVED! That morning I went and bought new Mac makeup for the wedding! I look at my wedding pictures and the day before pictures and LOVE the way the MAC comes out! The bareminerals sometimes comes off to chalking(at least on me) and the Mac was wonderful! So with that said I say mac! I use their studio fix liquid (which i haven't used liquid makeup in years and years b/c i have very oily skin this doesn't make you shiny)! Sorry that was long

I think Bare Minerals for the natural elegant look. Im not a fan of MAC, its so cremated looking, its always used in excess and just looks so cakey........ But perhaps thats all i've seen when I have seen it.

Both of them seem to be brands used by people who swear by them.. I have "MAC" friends and "BareMineral" friends. Personally I wear powdered mineral makeup on a daily basis, and the idea of switching to liquid foundation for my wedding day makes me think that it might be uncomfortable since my face isn't used to it.

The MUA photos on Kathryn C's thread are very lovely, and you can see that the bareminerals did provide coverage and even color in her before/after pics.

Well I don't know if MAC makes you look cremated (Um that is when they burn you to ashes when you die) but MAC is great makeup. I am allergic to alot of makeups but MAC I can wear.

You just have to tell them before hand not to go so heavy on the makeup.

I would say MAC all the professional makeup artist I know say the mac is great for photographing.

This week I went to MAC for a make-up lesson and was thrilled with the results. I bought everything she put on me! I like the coverage of the foundation and think the quality is great. I have never used BareMinerals so I can't really compare. I'm also an "older" lady and can't wear mineral make-up as it emphasizes wrinkles.

Ive grown up using MAC, we used it in dance for competitions when I was younger and continue to use it for everyday. all of their products are very consistent, and photographs really well. i think that because i have been using MAC for so long, i find that mineral make up does nothing for me; it just doesnt "cover" as well!

I had never heard of this brand, but I was so happy with the results--perfect and flawless coverage without the caked on feel and look.

MAC. hands down.

Based off of my experience, the MAC held up with the heat and lasted the whole day. The only thing that need reapplication was the lip gloss. My Bare Minerals doesn't hold up quite as well when I get sweaty (which I did get a little sweaty from dancing). So my vote is MAC!

MAC is the best! I LOVE LOVE LOVE MAC and as the ladies above have said, it really does photograph very well.

Aahh! Lol, it looks like a pretty torn vote...almost even between the two I so appreciate everyone's help...maybe I can trial both of them and see what looks best. Whatever I chose has to be able to blend the difference between my chest and face (no tan on face b/c of 50spf all summer...)
