Lump under my engagement ring

For the last week or so my ring finger has been hurting alot and there's a hard lump. Anyone know what could be causing it? It's hard to see but it's like a blister towards the top left

I had the exact same thing! And actually the bottom of our rings are pretty similar but mine is rose gold. Mine comes and goes and itches super bad. It hasn't come back for a while

    Clear nail polish may help!

Definitely always take your ring off to shower or do dishes... get yourself a nice dish you can place it in so it's safe. My FFIL did tell me it's never safe to wear your ring in the shower because overtime it can loosen the stones, especially if you have one pointers on your ring.

That looks like a nickel allergy. You may be more allergic than you think. I have a similar reaction to it so we were told by docs to get certain metals. Platinum & palladium are the ones I remember off the top of my head. Some pure forms of yellow gold will also work but most of the ones sold in the states are not that pure.

I get this all the time, I have to take my ring off, use antibiotic cream ( Neosporin ) for a couple of days, and clean my ring super good on the inside of it because I work in the medical field and so I use a lot of hand sanitizer, so it gets under there and makes my ring nasty and then I get a bump that turns red and itchy.

I bet the curls are bothering your finger. Go see a doctor and then a jeweler.

How many karats is it? I'm prone to allergies so my FH had to get 14k or higher (he went with 14k). 10k rings have more alloys than gold so they can cause reactions in certain people.

I think we have the same exact ring and I had that issue about a month after wearing it. I also had peeling skin. I never stopped wearing my ring but it went away! I probably had to get used to the friction and something always there (I'm a never wear jewelry kinda gal)

If it is an allergy you can have platinum plated over the white gold where it touches your skin and this should help dramatically without altering the look of the ring and will be less expensive (and less heart-wrenching) than replacing it with an entirely new ring.

You might also be cleaning your ring too often. There's no need to clean it every couple of days--maybe every couple of months at most!

Do your hands normally swell in the heat. Sometimes the summer heat and dehydration causes my hands to swell up. The swelling may be causing irritation with your ring. Maybe not wear your ring for a few days to see if it goes down.

I can hardly see it on my phone. Get it looked at if it doesn't go away. My mom had one by her nail on her index finger. She waited I would say about a year before it bothered her enough to get it looked at. I forget what they called it but she had to have surgery to get it removed. If it would have burst she could have lost her finger. I don't mean to scare you but since you said it is a hard lump that's what it reminded me of.

I wonder if you're allergic to the cleaner you use on your ring. Definitely take your ring off for a few days, wipe it well so all the cleaner is gone, and try it again. Also investigate the ingredients in the cleaner and Google to check for allergies.

If your fingers are swelling, then that's making your ring tighter. It might be digging into your skin and causing irritation.

I occasionally get a red rash under my ring. It's usually from soap build up. I'm just bad about remembering to clean them out. The detail on the curls might be especially bad for catching the soap residue. I boil my rings in hot water every so often and then clean out all the gunk that comes out with a q-tip or toothpick, keep boiling it until there's no more visible residue. That works.

Take off the ring see if it's an allergic reaction
