Hello all! Okay, So, I'm on a super tight budget for this wedding. I've looked, I can do it! (thankfully I have great help, and people who do things and are happy to gift me free/discounted services as a wedding gift)

My hardest challenge is finding a budget friendly venue. I've found some, but need a couple more options. If anyone in the DFW area has suggestions for a good venue option in the DFW area under $2000, under $1,000 is even better, please comment! I know they exist! My date is a Fall Sunday. Any information helps!

Thank you so much!

P.S. Please don't comment with discouraging things about being realistic. I know that it's difficult, I know that the venues that I really love cost a lot more. But I also know that at the end of the day, my perfect vision is a sweet ceremony, and a happy celebration with the people that we love, and who love us.

Thanks everyone!

@mrsCalderon we've already been engaged for almost a year and a half. I thought we would have a little more in savings by now. We also WANT the budget we have, and can make it work. I'm just having a hard time with a venue in my area. I'm not too picky (at least I don't think) if it's an outdoor, I just need a back up plan for weather. And I need the option for my own catering. That doesn't mean I won't use their catering if I can fit it in my budget, but I don't like being pushed into something I don't want. I almost let that happen last week. And I need the venue to be priced in my price range or the rest of my budget is blown. My date is very flexible, and so are a few details.

One of the best things I learned off these forums was that MOST couples are paying for their weddings themselves. Life did not deal you a bad hand because you are paying for your wedding, a luxury offered to ADULTS, by yourself.

We're not hurt. Honestly, you should be thrilled that you got feedback at all because your plan is rude and cheap. Notice; your plan, not you. Important distinction for the CG's.

    Negative =/= realistic

But hey, she'll find that out soon enough.

Please re read that comment carefully. I said we were going to do that, meaning we are no longer serving that. In another comment I mentioned we are now having stations. A meat station, pasta station and a salad bar. Also I have thought about my guests, thanks for your feedback though.

I've been on these forums for less than a day and I have to say that way too many comments I've seen on this board are so rude.

I don't see a problem with the OP not requesting discouraging comments. She is looking for advice, not people to tell her it can't be done or mock her wedding plans. If you don't think it can be done, stay off the post. All because someone makes a different wedding decision than you doesn't make it any less right.

Secondly to OP - wildwood inn in Denton. Not sure if anyone else mentioned it before because some of the comments were so rude that I skipped over them. $1500 for Sunday wedding. May be cheaper for weekday. I just booked my October wedding there.

I didn't see what your guest list is though - this venue can only hold 120 at the most.

I almost went here but we moved the wedding to Wisconsin!!! Ok so it says it fits 100 but she recently had a wedding with more than that and the girl just opened up the barn doors and had some tables and chairs outside !!! The women is SOOOOO freaking nice and she has options for ceremonies that are cheap too and gorgeous !!! It's adorable and this is exactly where I'd have my wedding in November if we didn't change things around !

Also wildwood inn rental includes all furniture, linens, silverware, and a venue coordinator day of wedding. With our buffet and open bar, it added about $31 per person.

@taylor I don't see a problem with friendors if they offered help. I would however offer to pay them something . My friend Lucy is helping me decorate so I'm making her a really kick ass box thing she loves and filling it with goodies as a thank you. Try thinking of ways you can say thank you if you're using friendors or set aside $ to give them a really nice tip at the wedding . My brother is helping with clean up and I'm gonna be giving him a nice hefty tip cos he offered, wants to, and won't take no for an answer so there's a few ways in gonna gift him to say thank you

Friends and family want to help?

No is a full sentence. Honored guests don't do any work at a wedding.

Jennifer - we ARE going to comment, because the OP asked for advice. If a friend had her dress tucked into her thong and asked you how she looked, would you say she looked great? No! You'd tell her that her ass was hanging out to keep her from making a fool of herself. That's what this community does. It tells you your ass is hanging out.

And in regards to the "it's not your wedding when you invite other people" issue. If you invited a friend to stay with you for the weekend, would you tell them they couldn't eat or drink in YOUR house? It ceases to be YOUR house when you invite a guest in. You must be accommodating.

Now if that friend showed up uninvited, well, that's a different story.

    ETA: grammar

Um.......any relative you expect to clean up at the end of a wedding will absolutely take 'no' for an answer. And you should be smart enough to realize it's wrong to even allow that.

    Hire pros.
