Hello all! Okay, So, I'm on a super tight budget for this wedding. I've looked, I can do it! (thankfully I have great help, and people who do things and are happy to gift me free/discounted services as a wedding gift)

My hardest challenge is finding a budget friendly venue. I've found some, but need a couple more options. If anyone in the DFW area has suggestions for a good venue option in the DFW area under $2000, under $1,000 is even better, please comment! I know they exist! My date is a Fall Sunday. Any information helps!

Thank you so much!

P.S. Please don't comment with discouraging things about being realistic. I know that it's difficult, I know that the venues that I really love cost a lot more. But I also know that at the end of the day, my perfect vision is a sweet ceremony, and a happy celebration with the people that we love, and who love us.

Thanks everyone!

The Springs Event Venue Rockwall/Poetry/Terrell. It all depends on the day of the week . Their weekend days run anywhere from 5-7,000 but monday - thursday is like 2,000-3,000. My wedding is there this August on a monday and we got it for 2,000. They also allow you to use your own vendors at no additional charge.

A caterer is something I don't have set in stone. The company I work for owns a restaurant, that is working on a quote for me. But if I found the right place who had a caterer that I can fit into the budget, then that's great too! If I can outside cater, I have 2 or 3 great options depending on physical locations.

If they are 'true businesspeople", they should be paid as such. If you really want to help them jumpstart their business, you'll pay the going rate.

Yes they offer suggestions on vendors but you are not obligated to use any of them. I have a uncle who is cooking for my wedding . You can also cook onsite, they have an area in the back for a bbq pit . They are pretty awesome there. So you should definitely check them out. It may be a little far from the DFW area to you though. I'm from Kaufman,Tx so the location is perfect for my family, but they have other locations like in Mckinney i believe.

@Ashlynn- That's awesome. Have you had any complaints or qualms from family and friends about holding a weekday wedding? I thought about a Monday, but my fiancé was worried no one would want to come or have a good time. I personally have been to more than one weekday wedding, that both had awesome turnouts, and I never had a problem with going!

If you're getting free or substantially discounted services from friendors, you're not paying for the wedding yourself. The cost of the services is just shifted to your friends, who are essentially paying for those services.

Ashlynn, dont make your uncle cook. It's pretty rude to expect your family member to slave all day the day of your wedding so you can save money.

@fallinthegarden and its very rude to decline and tell him we do not want his help or participation. I didn't even expect him to help. He demanded to assist us and that was his form of helping us, by cooking. Thanks. Anyways

@Taylor we did at first, but we have in our mind those who really want to be there will and those who want to be there but cannot its no problem. Plus my family is full of Educators so they have the beginning of August off.

Ashlynn, don't have your family cook. No matter how much he 'demands' to do it, it will result in what usually happens with DIY food; it will be late, chaotic, and he'll be grumpy midway. Your venue may not even let you in because he doesn't have insurance, health certification or workmans' comp.

It all boils down to money and lack thereof, as usual.

Irving Arts Center is 1600 + 500 deposit if there is alcohol, 1300 + 500 if not. That's for 8 hours!! 150 capacity w/ dance floor, 200 without. Art space 111 in Ft W is 2000 + 500 deposit. There's also the River Legacy Science Center in Arlington at $325/ hr. Good luck & ignore all the meanies, lol. This is suppose to be the happiest time of ppl's lives, yet they are being so snotty & discouraging. What the heck? Good luck to you!!

@Ashlynn, I kind of had the same mindset. I also figured it would be an evening, only serve beer and wine. And maybe I'm the only one with this thought process.. but "who wouldn't want to end their Monday with a wedding?" But then again, I LOVE weddings.

Yes we were only going to have Mini food and a treat table to feed our guest lol. We didnt want to stuff them full lol we just wanted to get them through the reception honestly. The beer and wine isn't a bad idea though.

Just remember this is YOUR wedding (well you and your fiance's lol) so at the end of the day its what you two want. Only what You two plan and decide will make it the best time ever, with that being said have your wedding the way yall want! Its cool to read the INFORMATIVE and encouraging comments but its up to yall at the end of the day. We won't be there but You will, we are not paying for it You are. Every wedding is different so make yours your own! (:

A Monday wedding sounds terrible to me. But that's because to me, a wedding is an awesome party where I stay up late with friends and loved ones dancing and drinking. If you're just doing like, a dinner party, and all your guests are local, I guess a weeknight isn't so bad? Meh.

Why don't you save for another year and have it in 2018? Then you'll be able to have it where you want it

FlightyFlutist I was against it at first I was like Saturday or no day, but changes in my job and other things that were beyond my control gave me a different outlook. As I stated before majority of my family members are educators so August worked, as for the others I understand if they can't/don't make it .

Sooo Ashlynn is having a Monday night wedding where she's not feeding her guests a full meal. Sounds awesome.

No Ashlyn. It is not "your wedding" unless you're eloping. And a 'treat table" to "get them through the reception" is about the worst plan and the crassest way of describing what is IN THEORY a thank you your guests as I have ever heard. Besides the juice boxes.

Lol reread that comment says "WERE". Yall get so offensive and hurt over things that have nothing to do with yall.

My wedding will have 3 food stations. Meat, pasta and Salad bar.

1st Re read and thoroughly read the comments your decide to respond to, 2nd don't assume. If you care so much about what IM having at MY wedding then your should help pay for it. Other than that your comments aren't needed for MY wedding. Im just here to offer advise and my experiences to my fellow bride's to be.
