Low back bra dilemma

Camille, on February 8, 2013 at 10:52 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 22

This is my dress... http://tinyurl.com/aac98ce

I am having the straps shortened, which raises the back slightly.

I was going to try the sewn in cups instead of a bra, but I can't do them because I am a 34DD. The pasties aren't going to do it for me either. I need a lowback bra, with the emphasis on LOW. I was thinking maybe something like this http://tinyurl.com/a4rgj2t ... but I don't know if the back is low enough?? Any tips? Thanks ladies!

I honestly don't think that bra is going to be low enough - you may just have to go braless.....

What about a self adhesive silicon bra like this one? http://www.amazon.com/Adhesive-Silicone-Color-Backless-Strapless/dp/B000QURHUU/ref=pd_sxp_grid_i_0_0 that's probably your best option.

You could try to find someone who can do custom bras/lingerie? I know someone whose bubbies get custom work cuz she can't find her size very easily in stores for reasonable prices.

The "sticky bra" isn't working for me . . . I can't get the lift I want. But Im in my 40s and have had 4 kids, so they are starting to get a little droopy :/ Im holding out hope for the sew in cups since Im only a 36 B+ (FMIL is amazing seemstress, going to see what she recommends)

Did you get your gown from a salon? Did they have anything????

Hiker - The salon said to get a Longline Low Back Bra and said that I should go to a specialty shop. The bra shop I went to told me to talk to the salon about shortening the dress straps to raise the back.

I think we'll both end up at specialty shops. Your gown is incredibly low, and I dont want a bra to show through the corset. Let me know if you find something!!

Hmmmm....that's really low. i think a low back converter might work since it goes around the waist. otherwise you may just need to raise the back.

My dress had a really low back like this and I was concerned when I found I would have trouble getting a bra since I'm a 32 DDD... My boobs hate me. Anyways, I had D cups sewn in and it ended up working ok for me, but it seems like my dress may have had more structure than yours. Beautiful dress!

I would just talk to your seamstress and find out what can be done. Be honest about your concerns.

I was checking out the above link, which may work for me, but says its not for larger women. While researching, I found this, that could work for you:

Wow! Hiker Bride!!! Those things are crazy!!! Yet, they look like they will work in some situations - Thanks for the link!! You can't imagine how they will work until you watch the small demonstration video - Warning, though, - it's rated R.

Does anyone know where one can get one of those backless body shapers in a DD cup size?

My best suggestion is to talk to a seamstress or alterations expert.

Have you seen the necklaces that hang down the back? That dress is screaming for one. I love them, but my dress doesn't have an open back unfortunately.

Yes, I have seen the back necklaces, and I really like them too. I'm probably going to go with a cathedral veil, however, so I'm leaning against a back necklace.

Have you considered asking them fasten a bra with straps into the stress? If it is tight fitting it would at least give some sort of support. Just a thought.

Thanks for the idea. The lady at the salon told me that a strappy bra would probably not work with the dress because the straps of the dress are only as wide as normal bra straps, so it would be hard to keep bra straps from showing.
