Hola, Has anyone thought about adding a lounge area for your guests? Creating a relaxing space away from the party atmosphere that they can enjoy, especially the elders. Thoughts? Pros and Cons? Thanks so much!

Yeah that's true about people leaving. And we actually have a smaller seperate area for it. It sits right across from the reception space. I may set up the photo backdrop in there to really make sure that space gets used. Thanks for sharing.

Yup we are having a cigar bar lounging area! We lucked out with a very very affordable set that included all accessories to complete the cigar bar! I initially said no, but the future hubs REALLY wanted it. I think it will make a great photo op and lounge area for those who "doesn't dance"

The whole set in the picture, including the rug, tables, signs, cost us $350!

We had a lounge area at our backyard wedding and it was definitely used! With COVID, I wanted a space away from the crowd that made people more comfortable. We had a small fire pit and outdoor lights. It was a huge hit!

Yeah I'm trying to avoid having a separate area. At other weddings I've been to, I found that a bunch of guests will hang out there instead and then the dance floor. It really brings the energy of the party down. Although these were smaller weddings. If you have a big wedding it might be fine

Is your hope to simply provide more seating? Or take up space?

If the latter, the first thought that came to my mind was a photo booth or something interactive. Seems like a fun way to spend the extra funds you might have + take up some space. This gives guests something else to do if they aren't feeling like dancing/drinking and could make for a fun photo guest book, too! Smiley smile

To utilize the space. It won't be used after we have the ceremony in there and it's such a great cozy space. We have a photo backdrop as well.

No! We had our photo booth sharing the area too. And the dance floor aka back porch was packed the whole night. I think your guests will appreciate the space. If it weren’t for this ridiculous virus running our lives, I would not waste the money. But... these are the times we’re living, for now!

That’s a good idea. Having the photo backdrop in that same room would create some traffic in there.

I thought about until I got the quote for seating for 4-6 people. Opted to not have a seating area strictly bc of the cost.
