Has anyone sent out invitations and had people say they haven't received it in the mail? I dropped off all my invitations directly to the post office almost 2 weeks before thanksgiving and have had people not get them and let me know but as my rsvp date approaches I'm worried that more people may have not gotten them and I only have 14 spare invitations left. Anyone have a similar experience?

I went to the post office and directly handed it to the postal worker (after buying stamps from him). There were about 20 invites in that lot and all 20 of those people never got one. The guy must have done something wacky with them. Who knows. Everyone I've talked to about this has said how rare it is, but it happened to me. Anyway, I waited until the RSVP date (we did our date a week earlier than normal because we knew people in our family are procrastinators) and then started contacting people and realized what happened. I ended up sending them out again with no issues the second time.

50% of my guest list didn't respond until the RSVP date or a couple days after, and we had to track down most of them. They had received the invitation - just forgot about it. I wouldn't worry too much yet, it's normal to not receive a lot of responses just because people forget.
