Lost RSVP card!?

bridetobe, on March 13, 2016 at 8:58 PM Posted in Planning 0 12

Does anyone else find it extremely rude when people lose your RSVP cards? My mom and FMIL called a couple people today and in conversation they said they lost their RSVP card and they're coming. With over 200 people coming, I need the cards back to keep track just in case. Plus I paid for the postage on it already! Makes me feel like they didn't care enough to keep the card... Especially family.

I mean when I get an invitation I check my calendar and reply...

RSVPs in general make my blood boil... they turn people into complete idiots.

But I'm sure Amy didn't lose hers!

Ive mostly been using the WW guest tracker thing, because yea the RSVP's are hopeless. As soon as I get one back or someone verbally tells me they are coming I just add it in

Extremely rude, no. But annoying, yes absolutely. Some people are just careless, and lots of people haven't planned a wedding to realize how important they actually are. One thing wedding planning as taught me is to not overestimate the ability of anyone to adult.

To be fair, when I was younger (19ish) and went to my first few weddings as a guest without a parent I thought if I got an invite I could just go--they were expecting me and rsvp wasn't too important (and tbh old fashioned).

Hopefully in a few months when I'm hunting down rsvps from all the people I'm currently asking for addresses, I will remember my younger self and try to not be annoyed Smiley xd

People are ridiculous. They should have at least called to say they lost the RSVP card but plan on attending. Geez.

Ugh I got so many text rsvps after I texted them! Like seriously I sent you a pre stamped pre addressed card for a reason! Just put it in the mail! My favorite was my cousin told her mom who told my grandma who told my mom who told me that the cousin and her boyfriend were coming. I said nope I'm not accepting that as an rsvp( this was after she did the same thing for my shower and the didn't show up so my MOH paid for food and stuff for a person who wasn't there).

MSo my mom told my grandma to have my cousin reach out to me! She is 20 so gets some excuse for being young but I wasn't going to count them coming without hearing from her!

We are doing our RSVP online. I will have 1 table dedicated to the non rsvp people. Once that table is full then I am sorry for your luck.

Same problem here! Sent out invitations 2 weeks ago and I've already gotten 3 RSVPs with no name on it and 2 RSVPs via text messaging!! Ok really?! All the time we spend making sure everything is perfect for people just to be inconsiderate! :-(

People are straight up fools with rsvps. we sent both regular, stamped rsvp cards, as well as the option to rsvp on the website (written in two separate places - on the rsvp card itself, and the details card). And I numbered each card to prevent the famed anonymous rsvps.

im sure someone will still find a new and exciting form of rsvp fail for us to deal with, though.

I'm guilty! I get so much mail for all the members of my household (some of which are only stop in once every few months) so it's like I'm a mail sorting facility. When I find bills / parking tickets / traffic citations (not mine) I jump on those first and then all other mail falls to the way side. I'm considering not sending RSVP cards and doing an online RSVP through my wedding website for people like me: wishing I could put my hands on the wedding invitation I know I may have seen arrive a few weeks ago Smiley sad but not sure.

Rude, no. If people can't even find specific bills laying around their own house, what would make anyone think they can keep up with a small piece of cardstock? All that aside, I always RSVP to weddings immediately or stick it on my fridge, so I'm never that person, but I can see how they can get lost. I'm well aware that people are busy, forget to RSVP, thought they already did or misplace it in the clutter of their home, so I'm going to try to be understanding of that when RSVPS start rolling in next month.
