Lost on how to Decorate Reception Tables?

Octavia, on March 2, 2020 at 12:40 PM Posted in Planning 0 9

Hi Everyone,

I am having an issue deciding what to do with decorating our table at wedding. The attached photo shows what venue can supply, we come up with rest.

For our wedding, all cups, plates, napkins and silverware will be disposable (caterer provides). We are fine with this, so it’s a non-issue for us.

The problem lies with how do we set up table? It’s a daytime wedding and we don’t want a formal vibe... maybe simple, elegant, rustic even.

Should we just put a table garland with some flowers in center?

Should we request caterer to set up tables with the utensils, cups and napkins even though they aren’t real? I’m honestly against putting real napkins at table since I don’t like mixing real with fake. I’d rather do one or the other personally and we don’t want to go the real route.

Any advice someone can give?Lost on how to Decorate Reception Tables? 1

You could put out centerpieces, table numbers and some napkins ontop of chargers to create the look of a seated plate. Chargers can be pricey though so maybe just the napkins and with more decor on the table it will look more filled out

I would put utensils so people don't have to carry them. Put some like glass bottles of water and water glasses. If you are serving wine you can maybe have some bottles on the tables with wine glasses. Some kind of center piece. I'd just Google centerpieces and see what you like.

I talked to the caterer and we are going to go with glassware after all. I think it will be worth the upgrade..

Are you doing the rectangle tables together like that? I think I'd get like a long runner for the middle so it disguises the split in the table.

That is a good point. That’s one of the photos the venue sent me, but I don’t like the split in the middle either. I will def need a runner or a centerpiece that would disguise it.
