LOST ENGAGEMENT RING KILL ME NOW

Shmilyhon, on February 19, 2015 at 1:55 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 40

I still can't believe it but it's true, I lost my engagement ring! I have no idea where it went because I NEVER take it off (not even in the shower) and it just disappeared from my finger =( We looked EVERYWHERE including down the drains at my house.

My question now is where can I buy a cubic zirconia ring in the Los Angeles area? Anyone know where I can get something nice for a reasonable price? I'm going to DTLA jewelry district this weekend.

Thanks!

Ps. If you haven't insured your ring yet... DO IT NOW!!!

Try overstock.com. it can be a little hit or miss but it's where I found the rings I wear for travel.

That sucks. Still, I hope you're going to tell your FH and not just pass off the CZ as the original.

Yikes this is my nightmare come true. Maybe try Macys. I actually take my ring of when I shower, cook, wash dishes and sleep and I have specific place where I keep it so I know if its not on my finger it's there.

I too gasps. I would also recommend KMart if they still have those where you live (they dont here), but they have very cheap jewelry. my FH would kill me and do you know what I had to go through to get this ring. We already discussed maybe a few months after we get married I am going to start wearing just a plain band (not the matching one that hes going to buy) but one we get for from bc of this website. I have lost every ring I was given (as a child) and I cannot lose this one.

I lost my ring at work...twice. Both times I had everyone searching every nook and cranny for hours. I know how heart wrenching this is. I second Pinotgirl...pray to St Anthony whether you are religious or not!

Eek! Hopefully it turns up soon!

I went on ebay and found a set of an engagement ring and two bands that look very close to my set. Looking closely, you can tell it's a cheap set. But from a foot or more away you can't really tell that much. The first picture is my engagement ring, the second is the fake set. It was $30 on ebay and has a decent amount of shine. It is my ring to wear while mine is currently being re-made (due to jeweler errors) but I bought it with the intention of wearing it places I would be terrified to lose my engagement ring at (aka swimming at a beach, in a shady part of town, etc.). Since my ring has spent a LONG time with the jeweler in the past year and a half, I have used this ring a lot.

Do you have a picture of your ring that you can post? I can try to help find you one on ebay that is similar? If you are lucky enough. I'm surprised I was about to find mine, but halos are pretty common, now.

Oh my gosh I cannot imagine! Im saying a little prayer that it will show up somewhere! For all still looking to insure, I used jewelers mutual insurance and I love it! Very easy process!

Have you lost weight since the ring was purchased? In other words, would a good toss of your hand allow the ring to fly off? It happened to me once. I must have thrown my arm in my sleep and the ring went flying. I found it in the corner under an armoire. Look around your bedroom. If you fell asleep on the couch, pull off the cushions and look underneath. If you don't remember losing it, you may not have been conscious when it happened.

As for the CZ...you can go to a jeweler and pay for new setting (that should be a few hundred dollars). Then they'll put a CZ in it (they're relatively inexpensive). It's the way we did my first engagement ring many years ago (white gold setting with 1/2 KT CZ). The fine metal setting is what's important.

I hope you find it soon!!

Just to follow up the whole insurance thing - I insured my ring as a rider on my renter's insurance for $12 PER YEAR. Insure your rings, girls! At that price there's no reason not to!

I am so sorry. I lost my ring a year ago next week. It sucks. My FH thought someone died when I called crying about it. I will forever preach about ring insurance until the end of time. I hope yours turns out better than mine .

Try shaking out your sheets and looking behind/under furniture. Even if you think there is no possible way it got there, they have a tendency of bouncing/rolling/appearing in weird places. Look at estate sales for cheap rings too. There is a company near me that does this monthly and the jewelry tends to be pretty cheap.

What is your price range? My brother went to the DTLA jewelry district and got his ex wife a 1.5 ct. princess cut for $1,600 which is a pretty good deal. I'm sure you can find a better deal since its the week after v-day there might be sales going on.
