You can't spot reduce. You can only lose weight overall, and the way to do that is to eat fewer calories than you expend. No magic bullet, sorry. :-\

I have heard that detox will work, but you still will have to change your eating habits and do cardio.

Cardio cardio cardio...and 1200 calories a day of lean protein and veggies. One piece of fruit max. Minimal or no diary or processed breads. No diet soda. A gallon of water a day.

What JHazel and Janeen said. One easy thing for us to do in my household was cut out soda and all other sugary drinks. Water, iced tea (unsweetened obviously), etc. Also, I reduced how much sugar and cream I put in my coffee now. I do no sugar at all now! I hope that helps you! Baby steps may seem like baby steps, but they'll help out over time. Like adding a 30-min walk everyday. Or taking the stairs instead of the elevator, etc.

To lose belly fat is going to be more about your diet than your exercise routine I have found. I would cut out carbs ( veggies are okay but not the ones that can cause bloat) cut out sugar and watch your portions. I find when I follow these rules my stomach comes down.

Yes, definitely no soda or sugary drinks. Drink water, and try a couple of cups of green tea daily.

I'm a junk food fanatic. Skittles, Starburst and Swedish Fish were my snack during crappy meetings. Like many ladies have said, increase your cardio and watch your food intake.

1200 calories a day is NOT OK.

Really, you can fill up on as much lean protein and non-starchy veggies as you want. Just avoid all of the other junk as much as possible for maximum results.

I wouldn't say live on 1200 calories a day forever, but it'll get you kick started, especially if you're not doing any high intensity exercise. Its not for everyone, but it does work.

No matter what amount of calories you eat, I'd suggest trying the MyFitnessPal app. Track your food, track your exercise, get results.

M, calorie intake is based of BMI and size and activity level and depending on the size & activity of the person, can be totally acceptable. it just cant be the "general #" everyone runs to.

you can't lose weight or fat in one place, you can eat at a calorie deficit and workout and lose overall fat and build muscle.

Andi, sorry - that's what I was trying to show, it's been put out there as some general rule - and no, its still bad as "jumpstart". 1200 is the calories someone should take in when they are already at a very low weight, and not active at all. Otherwise, it should be higher, always!

You need to focus on overall health for your full adult mature body. Trying to be what you were while still developing is unrealistic and will leave you frustrated forever. You can't lose weight in a specific place- you need to eat healthier (not necessarily less food) and at least go for an hour walk every day if you don't normally exercise. It's at least a start.

Like everyone said.. Minimize calorie intake. Hold yourself accountable and track the foods you eat by utilizing myfitnesspal. It's a food tracker and they also give you neat recipes. Exercise is key! Cardio is great but some light weightlifting helps you tone up. And start to meal prep on the weekends. I'm finding that meal prepping helps significantly. Check out those mason jar salads! :-)

There is really no way to target just one area of your body. You put the weight on over time, so unfortunately its not going to come off over night. You should focus on eating healthy (read: natural, not processed, low in sugar and carbs) on a daily basis. Make sure you eat regular meals. Try granola or oatmeal for breakfast (high in fiber so will fill you up!) with fruit, a green leafy salad with protein (tuna or other fish or chicken, nuts, and seeds on it) for lunch with some fruit, and then a lean meat like fish, chicken, or pork for dinner. Avoid bread, cheese, sauces, creams, etc. when you eat and cook. Drink lots of water. Don't eat ANY fast food or drink ANY soda between now and the wedding. I mean, ANY.

Also, you should be doing at least 30 minutes of cardio every day. If you don't have a gym membership, just go for a jog around your neighborhood - its FREE Smiley smile Also, jump rope is great and super cheap. You can't spot-reduce your stomach, but working on your overall bodyfat will help!
