Long vs Round Tables

FutureMrsHodges, on June 28, 2011 at 10:10 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 12

I really don't want the typical round tables. I like the long tables, it gives the event a more family feel.JMO What kind of tables do you want for your reception? Will they be long, round or a combination of both?

Only bad thing about long tables, there isn't alot of space for centerpieces and etc.

Long tables would have been my choice... but with the amount of guests... wouldnt fit properly, so i had to go with round, i love the look of long tables, so classy

I was trying to do long tables originally but I would've had to rent them since my venue only came with round tables. They give more of a family dinner feel but you do end up paying more to decorate them. Also keep the layout of your room in mind. Another reason we decided to (grudgingly) go with the rounds is that the long ones would've made people have to walk ALL the way around the table to get to the bathroom, buffet, etc. If you're in a big open space then it shouldn't be a problem though.

I had to go with the long tables, but would've prefered the round tables as I think they give the place a more intimate feel. As long as there are tables, I do not mind lol Smiley smile

I was going with round, but you gave me some inspirationsSmiley smile lol...my venue have both so I can switch! I was only using long for wedding party, food, candy bar, and gifts. But I am now looking at wedding lay outs.

I am going with the long tables. I like the look of the long tables better, which is probably a good thing because thats all we could use with our venue! Everyone will be at tables of 10 people and we will be at our own square table (sweetheart table)!

I am doing long for the wedding guests - then I am going to sit my wedding party (and their guests) in the middle at round tables with FH and I at a smaller round sweetheart.

I feel like round tables are more elegant, so we're trying really hard to keep the guest count low so we can use them. Our venue can fit more people at long tables than it can at round. Right now, we're planning on having 8 long tables and 20 round tables, which I think will look pretty neat.

We are doing long tables. Our head table and cake tables will be round but that is it. We went with long tables because they are free for us to rent.

We had long tables. Now to increase the space for centerpieces we actually butted up 2 long tables to make almost a square table. So one 8' table can only 10 people, but when you butt 2 8' table together it can hold 12, which isn't that much more, but people also have a lot more room. That's what we did.
