Long sleeve lace wedding dress in June?? Good or bad idea?

Anna, on June 15, 2019 at 11:36 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 7
Hi ladies! I’ve got a question for you all! Smiley smile

The location:
Im planning on getting married next June at an indoor/ outdoor venue with access to the indoors. The ceremony is outdoors, and the reception will be a mix of indoor and outdoor, while dinner will be outdoors.
The cake, food, bar and guestbook will be inside so I do have excuses to take breaks from the outdoors and mingle inside with guests as well. It will be a late afternoon wedding to nighttime. There is a river next to us and the wedding planner told us the location is very windy, which may help keep it a bit cooler. Not sure it will be significant enough though.

The Problem:
I have fallen in love with this light lace wedding dress that has breathable looking lace sleeves... I’m wondering if it would be a big mistake to wear a wedding dress with lace sleeves in June in Minnesota at a mainly outdoor venue!?

Id love to heat your experiences and opinions on this! Smiley smile

I wore long sleeves (in March though) but honestly wedding dress sleeves seem so sheer wear them if you want. It’s not like wearing a sweater.

Lace is so thin I'm not sure it matters. Just stay hydrated!

You will be miserable. I was sweating with lace sleeves in January in Colorado. With Minnesota humidity, it will cling to you and the material most of those sleeves are made out of doesn’t let you breath as much. My suggestion would be to look into a strapless dress and lace jacket, that’s what I did so I could take the dress off for the reception and not be so warm! I know the sleeves look thin but they are SURPRISINGLY warm especially when you add layers of skirts and everything else.

I personally wouldn’t wear a long sleeve, specially for a semi outdoor wedding!!! You will get hot and wish you could take the dress off! You will be moving/walking around a lot.. between taking pictures, dancing, and so on.. imagine! If I was you I would try to visit the venue sometime this month so you can get an idea of how this wind gets or how it feels around this time.. I like Megan’s Idea... can’t even tell you could take that off.. .

I would say you might be too warm. You will be all over the place that day and will likely sweat after a while, but go with your gut if you think you will be ok.
