Long Island 2020 Brides

Victoria, on July 8, 2020 at 2:16 PM Posted in New York Planning 1 2

Calling my Long Island brides! For those of you that are getting married (or were suppose to get married) this fall, what you planning on doing? My date is December 5, 2020 but am considering postponing. My venue (The Vineyards) let me place a soft hold on a December 2021 date last night and thankfully all of my other vendors have that date open. When this all started, I was adamant about not postponing but as time goes on I am starting to think I should postpone, especially after seeing what other states are doing (limited capacity, required masks, no dance floors) and knowing a vaccine won't be ready by the end of 2020. I also can't stop thinking about what if someone were to come to my wedding and get sick with COVID. So many thoughts running through my head (and I'm sure running through your heads as well). Are many of you postponing or still holding out? I'd also be curious to see if any other brides are also getting married at The Vineyards and if you postponed what the process was like?

Thank you ladies!

Victoria

Im not in long island but im in mid hudson region. im not postponing my wedding. right now were allowed 50 in phase 4 so were going with 50 unless something changes. most likely masks only required when unable to social distance and when dancing. other than that not really too many big changes to the wedding itself. im not postponing bc we just dont know if there will be a vaccine even next year. this could go on for 2 years for all we know, but hopefully not. a lot of venues are already doing weddings of 50 and they look quite nice. if u could move ur wedding to connecticut theh have more lenient guidelines so thats always an option

Hi Victoria! It's such a tough decision, and people are deciding based on all sorts of factors (how bad the spread is in their area, high risk guests, guest list size, indoor vs outdoor celebrations, if you have to wear masks, how much money would it cost to reschedule, etc)!

If postponing would make you happier and less stressed about your guests health then go for it! You can also post a follow-up question in this conversation for December New York brides to see if anyone has changed their plans:
