Long farmhouse table centerpieces

Caylin, on June 28, 2019 at 8:02 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 1 8

Hi ladies!

Need ideas for long table centerpieces! Our venue has beautiful dark brown farmhouse tables and we need something simple to decorate them...Would it be weird to have a few tables have a garland and others have other decor? Greenery is so expensive so I figured I could cut down the cost by doing that, but I don't want it to look tacky... Also, any ideas that are non floral would be great! Share pics if you'd like!

Greenery is way less expensive than flowers. You could do some table runners with candles or lanterns and come greenery which would be beautiful and not very expensive. I would check out Pinterest for some ideas. Hers on quick one I came across. Good luck.

In our experience greenery was just as expensive as centerpieces. Our seeded eucalyptus garland was $20 per foot.

Wow! Sorry, mine wasn’t expensive at all. That’s why I opted for greenery over flowers. These were mine. I hope you find something.

Oh yeah I think something loose like that is cheaper! Farmhouse tables require a garland that’s more labor intensive and expensive.

Hi! I’m at a pretty farm-like venue, being at a a gorgeous rustic Jeffrey A Miller catering venue in NJ. For me, we’re using wood planks to hold rustic lanterns (that are included with the venue!!!) filled with string lights, flowers, and the table number! Looks gorgeous and simple (despite sounding a bit crowded lol). If you can find rustic looking lanterns, it MAKES the table. Maybe embellish it with flowers or lights, and it’s rusticly beautiful! Hope this helps spark ideas!

I think if you were to do diff decor for diff tables if you can make it like a pattern where every other table is garland that would be kinda cool actually

I agree with Kelly that the garlands were just as, if not more, expensive as traditional floral centerpieces. My garlands were $15 per foot but we were able to get the most use out of them by using them to drape the pews at the ceremony and then re-using them as our centerpieces. But you could do as the other PP did and just use loose greenery which is probably a lot less expensive. Alternatively, candles of varying heights going down the length of the tables would be very elegant and romantic. We added those with our garlands.
