Long bridesmaid dresses with cowboy boots

Private User, on September 3, 2013 at 6:42 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 5

So I'm having an early November, outdoor barn wedding in Missouri, and it can be fairly chilly that time of year. Initially we were getting married in October when it was warmer and the bridesmaids were going to wear shorter dresses with cowboy boots. Due to the cold I was considering longer dresses, but would that still work with the cowboy boots? (I'm planning on wearing boots under my dress as well.) Thanks for the help.

I think with the right material... like chiffon and more casual material.. I would stay away from satin and the more elegant material, it just won't look right.. I wore my cowboy boots with my organza dress.

I think they're going to look awkward on the bridesmaids, honestly, because while they might not show (or show much) with your dress depending on the style, they're more than likely going to show with theirs.

FH and I are in MO too, and planning on marrying early next November, same date, actually! I'm planning on even buying one of those short bridal capes to wear because my dress is strapless and I know I'll freeze just going out to the car to get to the reception, and then leaving the reception. I'd honestly be more worried about you and your BMs getting cold!

Hmmmm, I agree with Molly, don't know if boots would work with long BM dresses. Boots are pretty warm, so given the choice, I think I would rather have bare legs and boots than a long dress and heels. You can always put thick, warm wool socks in your boots. Depending on the dress, maybe you can add a scarf or cardigan.

I have the same problem so the girls are only going to wear boots for photos like i am or they are going to shorten their dresses but MOH loves the long chiffon dress

Thanks everyone, I think we're going to go with short dresses and boots. I'm going to knit shawls for the girls and myself in case we get really cold. Maybe a little thicker than these, but with a variety of patterns.
