lodging Help!

Hollie, on July 11, 2019 at 4:37 PM Posted in Missouri Planning 0 5
My fiancé and I booked our dream venue at Whippoorwill Acres in Lancaster, MO. The owner gave us some suggestions of nearby places for lodging. My fiancé also reassured me there's places nearby for us to stay. I didn't think anything of it until I started really researching to start planning everything. But I've been searching and I can't find anything that close to the venue! The closest places are sketchy looking hotels within 30 minutes of the venue. Most family is traveling from Iowa so going even further south into Missouri to stay at a nicer hotel would be a pain. I'm concerned because our friends are heavy drinkers and I don't want anyone to be drinking and driving after the reception. Does anyone know of any van rentals or party buses in that area? (Northwestern Missouri / Southwestern Iowa) that we could rent to get people to and from the hotel? Does anyone know of any secret place I haven't heard of near Lancaster, MO? I am up for anything - cabins, camping, hotel, etc. TIA!

We are in Denver, and we are paying $1,151 per 55 person bus to get our guests to & from the venue for our wedding next weekend. It's about a 35 minute drive. Our venue is in a small town with limited service and no uber or lyft options, and we have a full open bar. We blocked two hotels 35 minutes away then gave guests an option to RSVP "yes" for transportation.

I think your best bet is Kirksville since it's a college town.
If you don't have any luck finding shuttles in that area, you might be able to get one from the Quincy, Illinois area. Valentines Xpress and Party N' Progress might go that far out. They have 25-30 passenger vehicles.

I'm not familiar with the area, but may I suggest using school buses? I'd be surprised if you can't find at least one in the area - everyone needs school transportation.
