Live stream wedding ceremony?

Hello everyone, I wanted to reach out and see if anyone had any good ideas on how to word an invitation to watch our wedding ceremony via a facebook live broadcast.

Here is the situation: We are having a small wedding where we live in Rhode Island but FH is from Guatemala and I’m from New York. We have friends and family who will be making it out for the wedding as well as family and friends who wanted to be here but can’t be due to health, no money to travel, unable to get a visa on time etc.

We thought it would be nice to make a secret facebook group and livestream the ceremony to those invited into this group. That way they can still be there in some way. Especially for FH’s mom and some of his siblings who are unable to travel. It would mean the world to me to have his mother included in any way that I can. (Suggestions are welcome).

Has anyone done this before and have advice? Do you think this is a good idea and how would you word the writing on the group description that explains why they were invited into this group?

    I think just saying
We understand some people were unable to make the wedding and are inviting you all to watch it live on Facebook in this private group so you can still be there in spirit.

Yep sounds like a good idea! Set the FB group up a few days before and make a post on it about why you're doing it and what time the live stream starts. Make sure you have good cell reception and assign someone reliable to hold the phone!

I have an ipad with cell service so what I think I’ll do is use that, it has a case that will prop it up. I can sit it where his mom would be sitting had she been able to make it and just ask my sister to turn it on when the time comes.
