Let’s See Your Veil (or headpiece)!

I love my veil it's so pretty and goes well with my dress

For some reason the veil/headpiece decision has been one of the only difficult decisions for me during this entire planning process! Initially, I absolutely did not want a veil. I have a unique dress that doesn’t really lend itself to a veil, but I indulged my mother and tried veils on with my dress, but nothing looked good with it. So I planned to wear a crown instead. I ordered it, liked it, but then after about 6 mos it just wasn’t sitting right with me. I’m really not a “crown type” of person. So I began to scour the Internet for something I liked better; and to my surprise I ended up finding a bespoke veil maker and having a celestial veil made (we were planning a celestial themed wedding). Then Covid hit and we had to postpone. Then postpone again 🤦🏼‍♀️ During that time, we decided to downscale our destination wedding and make things easier on ourselves- we cut our guest list down to about 1/3 of the initial count and abandoned the celestial theme (so we didn’t have to worry about shipping things to our venue). Since we were abandoning the celestial theme, I decided I probably wouldn’t wear the veil after all, and instead had a custom headpiece made. I adore the headpiece and 100% plan to wear it. However…. I kept seeing these gorgeous veil photos, and couldn’t help but think this will be the only time I will ever get to wear one, and I worried I would regret it if I didn’t. Then, last week, I accidentally stumbled across a gorgeous cathedral length Swarovski crystal veil on Poshmark that suits my dress perfectly!! It’s a Kleinfeld veil that sells for $1100, and I got it for $250!!!! It just arrived today and it’s even more gorgeous in person! So It looks like I will now get my epic veil photos after all (and can still wear the headpiece at the reception)! This is a picture from the listing. Definitely not the greatest picture, but I haven’t taken any myself because the veil needs steamed. For those of you still looking for the perfect veil or headpiece… Check out sites like Poshmark!! I opted for a headband!

I have a pleated veil that is fingertip length. I wanted something pretty, but not too long, so it wouldn't be difficult to manage!

My veil is sparkly and long, though I don't have a photo yet. I also have a hair piece that I picked out!

Beautiful! You're making me want to get a veil that's not just from Amazon haha. I couldn't justify paying $200+ on a veil. But, this is the one I got from Amazon: EllieHouse Bridal Veil

I used my best friend’s veil! It was my something borrowed! For my hairpiece I used pearl bobby pins

My seamstress is making my veil and it's not ready yet, but I wanted a very plain yet dramatic circular drop veil - cathedral length - to give this kind of look:

my dress is quite boofy, and a lot of veils these days are just one long noodle going out behind you, which works with a more fitted dress, but doesn't look quite right with a princess dress, so I wanted something more enveloping and romantic. I'm SO excited to see it!

I definitely will share the veil! I had hoped it would be done by my last fitting the other day, but nope. Hopefully next one it will be!

I'm going to wear a cape veil and I'm so excited about it! Here is a picture from Etsy. I'm trying to decide if I want to wear a tiara/crown or hairpiece.

So I wasn’t going to wear a veil but then I tried this one on with my dressed and loved ! Haven’t bought it yet because I might want to go with a longer one but I’m not sure yet lol but I’m definitely going to have the gold leaf hair pins for sure 😍

I really like the ones that go on the side of the head like in some of the ones above! I’m not completely sold on a veil either to be honest.
